Georgetown Prep and Bullis met for the second consecutive week on Tuesday and the second meeting was just as riveting as the last, as the Hoyas slipped past the Bulldogs 9-7 at home in the IAC semifinal to advance to Friday's championship against archrival Landon.

Both sides dominated for stretches of the game as the Hoyas jumped out to a 5-2 lead after a four-goal run in the second that was immediately swept away by a five-goal run by Bullis. However, Prep mounted another four-goal run in the fourth quarter that was aided by its ride, which opened up opportunities for two of those goals. Bullis' [player_tooltip player_id='15124' first='Jewel' last='Walker'] and Prep's [player_tooltip player_id='14866' first='Owen' last='Horning'] and [player_tooltip player_id='14554' first='Wyatt' last='Bowman'] led the game with three goals each.
<!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["15009"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"u003cspan style=u0022font-weight: 400;u0022u003eThe Little Hoyas' No. 1 cover guy didn't disappoint in his invigorating matchup against No. 3 junior [player_tooltip player_id='14534' first='Jackson' last='Maher']. He finished the game with three goals but only one of those came off a dodge against Welgos and it was generated from a poorly timed switch that Maher took advantage of. Welgos doesn't have the biggest frame at 6'0”, but he makes up for it with his heavy, well-timed slap checks. He lands those checks while keeping his bottom hand tight to his waist and rarely loses his composure in his stance making him a very well-rounded on-ball defender who'll occasionally generate a plethora of turnovers. u003c/spanu003eu003cspan style=u0022font-weight: 400;u0022u003eWelgos has been matched up against Maher throughout his career, so there's certainly a lot of history regarding that matchup.
