Bowman was one of the bright spots for the Little Hoya offense, recording a hat trick to total half of his team’s goals on the day. He is a big midfielder with great off-ball instincts, scoring all three goals coming off an assist from a cut through the middle of the defense. He has good timing on his cuts and good chemistry with his teammates for them to be able to find him consistently open in the middle. Two of his goals came on man-up opportunities where the ball was at X and the play was designed for him to catch the defense sleeping and the future Syracuse tight end was able to execute that twice with pressure applied. He’ll need to continue to perform for this Prep offense to get back on track against Gonzaga.

The 6’5” downhill dodging middie is the type of athlete the Tar Heels badly need to get their program back on track. His size helps give him the confidence to attack teams’ top LSMs. Two of his three goals on Tuesday came while he was being guarded by 6’4” defenseman and Bucknell commit Alexander Latchford Alexander Latchford 6'3" | 185 lbs | D | Left Hand The Bullis School | 2024 MD and his final was off a clutch ground ball that was the Hoyas go-ahead goal. Unlike a lot of other middies with elite size, he isn’t one-dimensional. He plays on the inside for man-up demonstrating his quick hands and crafty stick skills.

Bowman is undoubtedly one of the most polarizing players in the class, and his hulking 6’5, 210-pound frame is hard to miss. A Darien (Conn.) native, Bowman transferred out of the Blue Wave’s program following the 2022 season and repeated his sophomore year at Prep, where he’s a boarding student. Late in the spring, it was clear that he was gaining confidence and able to threaten opposing defenses with his combination of size, athleticism, and a hammer of a shot. This summer, Bowman showed flashes of dominance with Express North and at the One Percent Showcase, where he was named Offensive MVP.
Still, he’s only just scratching the surface, and that’s scary. Bowman has the capability of taking over games and did just that plenty of times this summer, beating double teams with his sheer strength and putting the ball in the back of the net. Quite frankly, players with that stature aren’t supposed to move like him. The biggest knock on him throughout the recruiting process, however, was the hit-or-miss nature of his game in terms of consistency. He has grown and developed a lot in the past year, so he’s still learning to use his frame to his advantage on a more regular basis, but there’s so much upside, and it’ll be interesting to watch how he polishes his offensive skill set.
