D’Annunzio is extraordinarily athletic and speedy pole with an imposing frame (6’1”; 190 lbs.). Those assets combined with D’Annunzio’s polished stick skills create a defensive prospect who can impact every facet of the game. D’Annunzio is a shut down 1v1 defender with the ability to cause turnovers by taking the body or via stick checks. His timely can openers and trail checks are especially impressive. D’Annunzio also does a tremendous job of snagging ill-advised passes out of the air. In addition to generating a slew of turnovers, D’Annunzio is a ground ball machine. Once D’Annunzio has secured possession, he has shown a fantastic feel for when to push the fast break himself or roll into open space and then deliver a clearing pass to a teammate. When he decides to lead the transition game, the fleet footed D’Annunzio is a threat to go coast to coast for a goal or an assist.
