Iorio is an agile and fast pole with an active stick who committed to NJIT in mid-December. That trifecta of assets makes Iorio a ground ball machine. In traffic or open spaces as well as on the face off wing, Iorio excels at relentlessly pursuing GBs and then securing possession. Once the ball is in Iorio’s stick, he can push the ball in transition or deliver a smart clearing pass to an open teammate. His ability to cut in a dime while running full speed makes Iorio difficult to defend on the fast break. The assets mentioned above also enable Iorio to harass ball carriers on the perimeter until he can create a turnover. His heavy stick checks as well as crafty pokes and lifts frequently put the ball on the turf. Iorio can generate turnovers by playing a physical brand of defense too.
