Grasty is a Charlotte, N.C. native who transferred to Episcopal School in Alexandria, Va. and wasted no time making his presence felt, garnering All-DMV honorable mention recognition and catching my eye at the InterAc vs. IAC Challenge. Energetic and disruptive, Grasty is a bona fide pest with his incredibly active stick. He attacks the ball-carrier’s bottom hand, puts the ball on the carpet, and picks up first-time groundballs. Sliding with authority, he’s also adept at playing fundamentally sound defense without throwing his stick around, and excels at moving the ball upfield in transition. I’m a fan at how well he can provide coverage both down low and at the top of the box at LSM, too. Quite frankly, it’s a bit of a surprise that he has yet to come off the board, as he’d be an excellent fit at a top mid-major.
