Watson is one of the most decorated Class of 2027 goalies in New Jersey. The Boston University commit is a two-time 1^st Team All-MAPL as well as All-Prep New Jersey selection. He recently added to that list of accolades by being named to the USA Lacrosse U19 National Team. Watson is an extremely athletic goalie with a non-stop motor and fast hands. That list of assets enables Watson to cover the top side of the cage with ease. Watson’s agility produces swift drops that allow him to deny low shot attempts too. The BU coaching staff will love Watson’s ability to scramble out of the net and then pounce on ground balls or win chases. Once the ball is in his stick, Watson will smartly deliver an accurate clearing pass that triggers a transition opportunity. Watson is poised beyond his years and keeps his defensive unit connected through constant communication.

Earlier this week, Watson committed to Boston University. If you saw Watson play in 2025, you know exactly why the Terriers came strong for him during the first month of recruiting for 2027s. Last season Watson posted a save percentage of 57% and was a 1^st Team All-MAPL as well as All-State selection. Watson is an extremely athletic goalie with cat-like reflexes. Those assets combined with his active hands enable Watson to cover the entire cage. Watson’s ability to fire his hands and stick in all directions produces a high percentage of clean saves. Watson also excels at making low saves with his body or stick. Once the ball is in his possession, Watson will rapidly deliver an accurate clearing pass. With his athleticism and foot speed, Watson will not hesitate to push the ball up the field himself.

Watson did a great job in cage for BBL as they looked to close out their opponents in the championship round. The Montgomery (N.J.) native was called on to take over in cage after halftime and played smart and tough in order to stop a high-powered 3D New England offense from making a second half comeback. He doesn’t have the size that some goalies do, but he plays hard with good footwork and quick hands inside showcasing the ability to stonewall his opponents on the doorstep like he did multiple times. While he didn’t see a ton of shots due to stellar defense from his teammates, he did make a few big saves late in the game where the tide could’ve turned including late in the third quarter and late in the fourth to seal the win. He is confident with a high lacrosse IQ, making him a solid prospect. It will be interesting to see how he develops moving forward.
