There were more than a few tight and entertaining games in Nevada this season. Below are the best 5 games that I was able to catch.

1. Game Of The Year - State Championship - Bishop Manogue vs Palo Verde

These two teams did not disappoint in the State Championship. It was back and fourth the entire way, and there were 10 ties throughout the game. Each team's stars showed up and it went down to the wire. With only a few minutes left on the clock, lefty Attackmen Parker Nielson scored two straight goals to secure the championship for the Panthers (12-11). All in all, I was very impressed by the play on the field. I also think it's fair to say that both Bishop Manogue and Palo Verde have a chance to return to next year's State Championship. They both have a good amount of underclassmen on their squads and they'll likely be ready for even bigger roles next season.

2. Bishop Gorman vs Coronado 2OT Game

Prior to the State Championship, this was my Game Of The Year. The Cougars were up going into the 4th Quarter, 7-2. Bishop Gorman then made an insane run, led by Colton Segler and Diesel Riiber, who also tied things with just 3 seconds left in regulation. It then went to overtime and neither team scored. It then went to a second overtime and the Gaels got the rock. Diesel Riiber and [player_tooltip player_id='124923' first='Ryan' last='Cambeiro'] then made their way to the top of the box. Riiber then dished it off to Cambeiro who had ample space to wind up, and he uncorked a bouncer that went in, giving Bishop Gorman the win. It was truly an incredible comeback, and I'm sure that Coronado will circle their first matchup next year.

3. Coronado vs Faith Lutheran Game, Coronado Shocks The Crusaders

I was able to catch this game online back in March. Faith has usually had the bragging rights between these two teams, and the Coronado team was hungry for a win against them. The Cougars had strong start and were up 3-1 early. But then Crusaders went on a 5-0 run and took a 6-3 lead after two quarters of play. The Crusaders then made it 7-3 and they appeared to be very in control the of the game. Koa Hernandez wasn't discouraged by the deficit though, and he found [player_tooltip player_id='127435' first='Andrew' last='Viloria'] on the doorstep to make it 7-4 right before the end of the third quarter. The Cougars then rattled off 3 more goals to start the 4th quarter, making it 7-7. Koa Hernandez then wrapped around the goal with less than two minutes left and scored the game winner.

4. Palo Verde vs Bishop Gorman Game In April, Palo Launched A Big Comeback

Bishop Gorman had a 6-1 lead in the second quarter and they the Panthers on upset alert. Then the Panthers came storming back. Scoring 3 more goals before halftime to make it 6-4. Then in the second half, their offense continued to find the back of the net and they ended up winning 10-8. Luke Rava, Slater Salinas, and Benn Carvalho were offensive standouts for them. I also liked how their defense and goalie Jojo Aragon shut down the Gaels in the second half.

5. LVLA Championship - Palo Verde vs Bishop Gorman

Palo Verde jumped out to an early 7-0 and it seemed like they were on the verge of blowing out Bishop Gorman. Then Merek Mastrov turned things around for the Gaels, scoring 3 straight goals. From there the Gaels continued to battle, but they couldn't quite close the gap. Although it was 12-7 by the end, it was great to see Bishop Gorman keep competing and they made it a two goal game for a short period of time. But Langston Goodwin and Benn Carvalho (Palo Verde middies)played at a high level that day, both racking up 3 goals and 1 assist.
