The NHSLS sessions offered a great look at rising uncommitted seniors competing with their high school squads. The July 1 NESCAC date set off a lot of dominoes for rising seniors, and the recent wave of commitments actually delayed this piece as several of these players quickly went from uncommitted to committed. Some of these midfielders may already have a destination in mind, even if their decisions are not public yet. Here are five uncommitted 2027 midfielders who stood out at the NHSLS sessions in June.

There is something to be said for owning a go-to move. Mullahy has plenty in his bag, but his on-the-run lefty down the alley is elite. He has enough shake to get a step on his defender and the speed to make sure they do not catch up. He plays with a little extra whip in his stick, carrying his top hand low on his release to hide the ball and generate torque, allowing him to pull it low or keep it high on jump shots. At NHSLS, he showed more than just that alley dodge. He scored with his off hand, grabbed tough ground balls, handled clearing as a one-man option, and chipped in on the defensive end. That performance earned him All-Tournament Team honors. Given that he is the only nationally ranked midfielder on Prep Lacrosse's board in this group, it is hard to imagine Mullahy staying uncommitted much longer.

Rudolph joined his new squad at the first NHSLS session and quickly stood out. His best trait is his on-the-run shot, especially when he gets to his right hand and uncorks one with one of several different releases. He has a couple of change-of-direction moves to stay dangerous on both his first and secondary dodges. Just as importantly, he showed a willingness to do the dirty work without the ball by cutting hard inside and competing for ground balls. Despite missing part of the season due to injury, he still earned First Team All-State honors at Fairfield Prep in the spring.

Brothers earned NHSLS Red Session All-Tournament honors for good reason. His impact on the faceoff wings was a huge part of that, as he consistently flew into groundball battles, came up with wins, and gave the whole team juice. Coby Cantor was excellent at the dot, but Brothers was a huge factor in Cantor's winning percentage. He is only 5-foot-9, yet he has a knack for showing up with a big play, something St. John's followers saw all season. Add in the fact that he can hold his own at the faceoff stripe and create in transition, and there is a lot to like.

I'm not sure Eke will choose lacrosse in college, especially with three Division I football offers already on the table, but if he does, he projects as an excellent SSDM at the next level. He has everything you want from a d-middie who can lock down opposing dodgers. His ability to jam players off their path and stay with them is impressive. I also liked the way he came out on a hard switch and knocked an attackman off his line to erase an advantage. In the clearing game, he has the instincts and change of direction to be a one-man clear. The stick is still catching up, but that's understandable for a three-sport athlete.

When Nowack ripped a step-down against Fog City, the immediate reaction was to wonder who had already landed him. As it turns out, the 6-foot-4 shooter is still uncommitted, which should get plenty of college coaches interested. His size makes him tough to affect physically, and he backed that up at NHSLS with more than just outside shooting, showing he can work off the ball too, including a cut-and-finish goal shot low to low. He may not be the quickest defender, but his frame lets him overwhelm smaller dodgers and disrupt plays with sheer presence.
