Delaware Valley Stock Risers From July

Below is a review of five prospects from the Delaware Valley (SEPA; South & Central Jersey; Delaware) who played outstanding lacrosse in July and thus raised their recruiting stock.    Back in mid-June, Kegler crushed the competition at the NHSLS White Session and was named to the All-Tournament team. His fantastic play continued here in July at marquee events such as the Alliance League Summer Championships and New Balance All-America. This month Kegler demonstrated that he is a true two-way midfielder who can quickly turn defensive stops into high percentage scoring opportunities at the other end. Kegler was a menacing on-ball defender who frequently caused turnovers. With his agility and active stick, Kegler also proved to be a ground ball machine. Once he had possession of the ball, Kegler's elite speed and shifty moves enabled him to carry the ball deep into the offensive end. Kegler's accurate and powerful shot allowed him to frequently score on the fast break. This rising sophomore demonstrated an impressive ability to change shooting levels while on the dead sprint, too.     This past spring MacQueen exploded onto the Delaware Valley recruiting scene by posting an astonishing 61 goals and 28 assists. MacQueen's stellar play has continued on the summer circuit. His quick burst, elusive stick maneuvers and filthy stick skills created scoring chances for MacQueen and his teammates. One item that really popped about MacQueen's skill set was his ability to fire long range sidearms into the net while on the move. In transition, as well as in 6v6 action, MacQueen excelled at dashing into open space and then ripping one past the goalie. College coaches will love that this summer MacQueen scored on the run with his left as well as his right hand. When opposing defenses collapsed on MacQueen, he used his field vision and passing skills to drop dimes on open teammates. Off-ball, MacQueen did a fantastic job of cutting down the middle of the field for catch and finish opportunities.     In July, Motta continued to torch opposing defenses with his next level speed, filthy stick skills, and ability to initiate from anywhere in the offensive end. Motta's dynamic first step enabled him to cook his defender and then charge to the net. Motta also demonstrated that he could beat his defender via split dodges and spin moves. Once he had blown past his on-ball defender, Motta used quick cuts to elude the slide and then charged to the net for scoring chances in close. His ability to string together multiple slick moves made Motta impossible to defend 1v1. This month, Motta also flashed the ability to score from X as well as around the crease. From behind the net, Motta repeatedly lost his defender and then burst around the corner for a scoring chance in close. His inside roll moves were especially effective. Additionally, Motta's off-ball cuts and drifts produced high percentage scoring chances around the crease.     Rynearson is an offensive prospect with a reputation for being an exceptionally talented left-handed attackman. That proved to be true again during the July club circuit, as Rynearson scored from all three attack spots. His off-ball movements that led to easy goals around the cage were especially impressive. However, in recent weeks, Rynearson also proved that he could operate as a downhill style midfielder. The combination of Rynearson's quick burst and crafty stick maneuvers allowed him to initiate from up top as well as the wing and then score or distribute on the run. Additionally, Rynearson dodged down the alleys, then slammed on the breaks and rolled back for 12-to-15-yard cranks. Whether he was operating at attack or midfield, Rynearson had a knack for turning garbage into gold. He frequently out hustled opponents to ground balls or rebounds, secured possession, and then found a creative way to deposit the ball into the net.     During July, Shifren wreaked havoc on opposing defenses with his ability to generate offense at both attack and midfield. At attack, Shifren did a tremendous job of scoring and feeding from X. He also demonstrated that he is a lethal catch and fire threat from GLE. Plus, Shifren worked the high crease area for catch and convert opportunities. As a midfielder, Shifren fired long range sidearms top shelf as well as off-hip. Shifren also executed inside hitch moves and then dipped underneath his defender for a charge to the net. At both attack and a midfield, Shifren proved to be a poised ball carrier who would patiently probe the opposing defense until a high percentage scoring opportunity developed. During the 2026 high school season,Shifren posted 31 goals to go along with 20 assists for Lenape.
