After looking at some of the sophomores who earned all-state honors in Colorado, it is time to shift the focus to a few under-the-radar juniors who also earned honors this spring. These five players were dominant in Colorado, deserve more national recognition, and in two cases, are still uncommitted.

The duo of [player_tooltip player_id='177835' first='Paxton' last='Webber'] and [player_tooltip player_id='177830' first='Adyn' last='Cassity'] produced well for Grand Junction this season. Webber earned first-team all-state honors in Colorado's 4A class after putting up 58 goals and 52 assists, trailing only Michigan commit [player_tooltip player_id='129632' first='Wyatt' last='Branish'] in total points. The 4A class may not feature the highest level of competition, but Webber looked like a man among boys for much of the year. His game is built on confidence. In tight, he has the flashy finishes, and with the ball in his stick, he has the green light to dodge and re-dodge to create his own shot. He generated offense with his speed, roll dodges, physicality, and overall nimbleness. There were not many matchups that could slow him down this spring. Outside of the semifinal game, he posted at least three points in every contest, including three double-digit point games. In that semifinal, Evergreen played mostly zone, which took away Webber's ability to play his game.

Colorado's 4A Player of the Year is still uncommitted. [player_tooltip player_id='177833' first='Emmett' last='Windley'] capped his junior season with a triple-overtime loss to Cheyenne Mountain in the state championship. He did not have a huge offensive impact in that game, but his body of work still stood out after finishing with 42 goals and 16 assists to help Evergreen reach the title game. Windley is a unique midfielder because of how little whip he plays with in his stick. That style lends itself to pinpoint accuracy as both a shooter and a passer. As a dodger, he does not rely as much on physical tools as he does on deception, efficient angles, and change of direction. He also made plays on the defensive end and between the lines in the championship game. If he can add some weight, he has the potential to develop into a strong two-way midfielder at the next level.

Just by looking at [player_tooltip player_id='177842' first='Luke' last='Michaels'], you can tell he has the potential to be dominant. At 6'5", he has the ability to run by — or through — most defenders, and he can really shoot the lights out. When he dodges, he gets downhill hard, beats matchups down the alley, and places the ball well. He is also a grinder off the ball. He is not afraid to make hard cuts to beat his matchup to the cage in the pick game, and he is a hustler when it comes to riding and getting back into the hole defensively. Michaels finished the year with 27 goals and 14 assists to earn second-team all-state honors in Colorado's 5A class. As a Vermont commit, I would like to see him take the next step during his senior year. He is an absolute wrecking ball; I would just like to see the production reflect that even more.

[player_tooltip player_id='177830' first='Adyn' last='Cassity'] earned first-team all-state honors in Colorado's 4A class after putting up 53 goals and 18 assists while leading Grand Junction to the semifinals. Cassity is a strong athlete who also plays football, and those change-of-direction skills show up on the lacrosse field. He is known for his dodging ability and often leans on his rollback to create separation and get his shot off. As a midfielder, he is a grinder between the lines and does a great job generating shots on the run. Inside, he is a crafty finisher who can score with both hands. Cassity looks like the type of midfielder who will fit in well at the next level for college programs looking for a dodge-heavy option.

[player_tooltip player_id='177839' first='Brandon' last='Wright'] finished above 71 percent at the X this season, helping Valor win the 5A state championship while earning all-state honorable mention. The Providence commit has all the tools to excel at the next level. He has the size, IQ, hand speed, and the ability to take it to the rack when needed. He scored two goals when it mattered most in the semifinal and state championship games. His hand speed is so impressive that he did not have to rely on much more than swipes and pinch-and-pop moves forward to win draws. When teams started playing more defensively to slow down his dominance at the stripe, Wright made them pay by finding teammates wide open on the wings. He has a pretty solid stick, even if it can get a little shaky at times, but his elusiveness and speed make up for it.
