Throughout the current high school season, we have profiled Class of 2029 prospects from Pennsylvania who “starred” for their teams and made tremendous contributions this spring. Names like [player_tooltip player_id='171511' first='Lach' last='Dumais'] of Hill School, [player_tooltip player_id='174697' first='Brady' last='Place'] from Penn Charter, and Radnor's [player_tooltip player_id='175707' first='Riley' last='Petrone'] come to mind immediately.

Today, we want to profile five talented freshmen who may not have been “stars” for their high school team this season, but they still managed to turn heads with their outstanding play.

Stashed away in Western Pennsylvania is this impressive 2029 face-off specialist with athleticism, speed, and refined technique. Gallagher had a major impact this season by securing the clamp cleanly and then exploding into the offensive end for transition chances. In the open field, Gallagher becomes a legitimate threat to put the ball in the net. Another item that jumped out about Gallagher is his relentless motor and competitiveness. Gallagher never gave up on a possession, and when a draw does not result in a clean win, he battles tirelessly until he comes away with the ball. His active stick, sturdy frame, and balance allowed him to emerge from scrums with possession consistently. As a bonus to his FOGO skills, Gallagher dropped back and played SSDM at a solid level.

Magan is an athletic, quick-twitch lefty attack who posted a monster freshman campaign. This season, Magan specialized in finding open space, receiving a pass, and then firing on net. His swift release and precise aim enabled Magan to ping corners from GLE as well as the wing. Magan also excelled at executing cuts, sweeps, and dives that produced clean looks around the crease. Once he caught the ball in close, Magan's deep back of finishing moves made him impossible for opposing goalies to stop. Additionally, this young buck thrived on the fast break, where he could finish or make the extra pass for an assist. Magan's nonstop motor and nose for the ball made him a plus player on the ride, too.

During the 2026 season, Seaman was thrust into Haverford's starting lineup against archrival Malvern Prep because of injury. This highly touted freshman met that challenge by scoring a goal in that pressure-packed Inter-Ac game. Seaman owns a dynamic first step, elusive moves, and polished stick skills. That list of assets enabled Seaman to dodge from up top, the wing, or X. His filthy stick maneuvers allowed Seaman to maintain possession in the tightest of spaces. Once Seaman got his hands free, his swift release and accuracy easily put the ball in the back of the net. Seaman has also demonstrated that he could use cuts, dives, and sweeps to create clean looks around the crease. Seaman's excellent field vision and unselfish nature produced a host of creative dimes.

This long, wiry, and skilled left-handed midfielder was a significant contributor for Hempfield in 2026. During his amazing freshman campaign, Stairs posted 31 goals. That impressive total included four goals in games against Dallastown, as well as Conestoga Valley. College coaches will love the high IQ off-ball movements Stairs displayed this season. His ability to work the middle of the field for catch-and-shoot opportunities was impressive. Additionally, Stairs demonstrated that he could sweep or drift to the back post for catch and dunk finishes. Stairs also showed that he can get downhill from up top, separate from his defender, and then shoot or distribute on the run. This lefty proved that he could unleash long distance sidearm rips into the net, too.

The first two items that popped about Young were imposing size and active stick. Those assets, combined with his smooth lateral footwork and physicality, enabled Young to work as a smothering on-ball defender. Young's ability to beat a ball carrier to a spot and then turn him multiple times was impressive. Once the offensive player made a mistake, Young would cause a turnover via powerful stick checks or crafty pokes and lifts. In 2026, Young also proved to be a high IQ team defender who deftly executed slides, double teams, and recoveries. This versatile pole did a fantastic job of navigating through or over screens, too.
