St. Mary's is coming off a huge overtime win over Calvert Hall on Tuesday. While the Saints are led by a strong group of upperclassmen, headlined by [player_tooltip player_id='123794' first='James' last='Brimhall'], several underclassmen caught my eye. Two-way midfielder and faceoff specialist [player_tooltip player_id='33226' first='Evan' last='Wilhoit'], along with poles [player_tooltip player_id='172086' first='Mason' last='Williams'], [player_tooltip player_id='163985' first='Liam' last='Bolduc'], and [player_tooltip player_id='173294' first='Liam' last='Denney'], are all deserving of recognition, but here are five more underclassmen who are already earning varsity minutes and making an early impact.

[player_tooltip player_id='172095' first='Brody' last='Fuller'] was a huge reason why St. Mary's was able to overcome Calvert Hall on Tuesday, finishing with 13 saves, including two huge stops in tight in overtime. What stands out most in Fuller's game is his composure in high-pressure moments, paired with minimal pre-shot movement that keeps him calm and collected.

Against a Calvert Hall offense known for generating quality looks from all over the field, Fuller showed his versatility, making saves in tight, pipe-to-pipe, and handling step-down cranks to all corners. One of his best stops came in the second quarter on a deceptive behind-the-back feed from X—typically a tough find for any goalie to locate. Fuller quickly picked it up, squared to the shooter, and made a strong far-side save. If the lefty can stay hot as he did on Tuesday, St. Mary's will be well-positioned to make a serious statement heading into the MIAA playoffs.

In the Saints' big win over Calvert Hall, Meushaw finished with a goal and an assist, making an impact in multiple phases of the game. His goal came off a well-timed off-ball movement, in which he found a step-down hotspot and finished smoothly around a defender on a feed from [player_tooltip player_id='173997' first='Conor' last='Gale']. He later returned the favor to Gale, pressing it in transition and setting up Gale, who slipped it past the goalie under duress.

Meushaw has shown the ability to torch matchups down the right alley, a strength he flashed throughout the fall, while also proving reliable on the defensive end. This spring, St. Mary's has done a nice job positioning him on his natural righty side, allowing him to attack the middle of the field for higher-quality opportunities and get involved in two-man actions. His role and production in this St. Mary's offense speak to his skill now and point to a potential star in the future.

Clune stood out against Calvert Hall on Tuesday, even without getting on the stat sheet, though he nearly found the back of the net on a well-timed backside cut that just missed in the first quarter. He was tasked with riding Calvert Hall's athletic short-stick defensive midfielders all game in their punt return style clear. He held his own, consistently applying pressure and forcing them to turn back or to give it up.

Clune continues to carve out a role in the St. Mary's offense with his off-ball instincts and deceptive style as a ball carrier. While he may not have imposing size, he makes up for it with skill, feel, and a strong lacrosse IQ. That was on full display against John Carroll last week, where he scored against the zone by selling pass first, baiting a defender to guard the man popping off the crease, and then stepping into a clean finish. It's a great snapshot of his game. Still early in his career, Clune has the tools to continue making strides within the St. Mary's system.

Heary is a name that won't stay under the radar for long. With his size and athleticism alone, he already has the tools to emerge as a high-level prospect, and that's before factoring in his impact as a three-sport athlete at St. Mary's, contributing on the basketball court and football field.

On the lacrosse field, Heary is at his best when he builds momentum. Once he gets downhill, even upperclassmen struggle to match up with his combination of strength and speed. He's comfortable attacking alleys or working to the middle, with the ability to free his hands in traffic and generate quality looks in multiple ways. The fact that he's already in the midfield rotation and seeing time on the man-up unit speaks volumes about his upside and the trust he's earned from the staff.

The freshman duo of [player_tooltip player_id='176613' first='Jackson' last='Heary'] and [player_tooltip player_id='176609' first='JD' last='Berry'] is already giving St. Mary's plenty to be excited about. Both are earning legitimate minutes, contributing on the man-up unit, and beginning to make their presence felt.

Berry picked up his first varsity goal last week against Boys' Latin, stepping into a shot and letting it rip for what should be the first of many. His film shows a player who can create his own looks, vary his release points, and finish through contact against top competition in his class. He has the change of direction and subtle hesitation moves to create separation, tools that are already translating at the varsity level despite his age. He's still early in his development, but the tools and confidence are obvious. [player_tooltip player_id='176609' first='JD' last='Berry'] may not be a known name yet, but he's well on his way.
