[player_tooltip player_id='125132' first='Chase' last='Bazant'] put together a big performance in Episcopal's win over Woodberry Forest, finishing with five goals and an assist. The Utah commit is a pure scorer with a shooter's mentality, thriving on his ability to get his feet set, read the goalie, and consistently win the “chest game” with his placement.

He shows excellent timing in his release, mixing in different windups and release angles to get shots off in tight windows. Those release variations aren't just for the cameras, either—Bazant understands when to catch and shoot overhand, when to drop to a sidearm slot to widen his angle, and when to lower his hands before pulling it high to freeze the goalie.

Episcopal will need that production from Bazant heading into the IAC tournament, especially after regular season losses to Landon, St. Albans, Georgetown Prep, and Bullis.

[player_tooltip player_id='176649' first='Oden' last='Duckett'], an Annapolis native, poured in four goals in Woodberry Forest's loss to Episcopal. The uncommitted senior consistently found space off-ball, slipping into step-down areas and finishing when it was his time. When he had the ball, he showed the ability to both finish from those spots and create his own offense, especially when matched up against short sticks.

He's not a player you want isolated against a short stick, as he can generate quality looks off the dodges, bounces, and redodges with ease. What stood out most, though, was his ability to manipulate goalies. On the run, he uses a jump shot to keep goalies high before finishing low. With his feet set, he pairs a quick release with snappy wrists and a deceptive windup that hides the ball, limiting the time goalies have to track the shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='176651' first='Joey' last='Scullion'], a Lander commit, accounted for half of Blue Ridge's goals in their 6-9 loss to Landon, finishing with three goals and an assist. His first point came late in the opening quarter, where he attacked a short stick from behind the cage, split left, drew the slide, and fed [player_tooltip player_id='176653' first='Mylan' last='Howell'] for an easy dunk with seconds left.

His three goals across the second and third quarters each showcased a different layer of his game. The first came on a backside sneak for an easy finish. The second was a jump shot from up the hashes, holding the goalie high before finishing low. His final goal came on a 15-yard step-down, shooting around a defender on the extra-man unit to extend his range with a slight screen. His versatility against a big-time opponent like Landon shows that Lander is getting a quality offensive piece in Scullion.

The vision of [player_tooltip player_id='176647' first='Brooks' last='Parrish'] was on full display in Woodberry Forest's loss to Episcopal, where he finished with three assists and a goal. While the senior's high-level scoring ability stands out, it was a subtle, high-IQ play late in the second quarter that got me to circle his name.

On a restart with limited time, Parrish picked it up in the alley and crow-hopped into a convincing fake before firing a skip pass through the entire defense to the backside. It's the kind of play that's worth watching in slow motion to appreciate the intricate parts required to get that pass through. He recognized the defense was splitting two offensive players with a single backside defender. Parrish faked to get that defender to move towards the high guy, and used a swing angle to look like he was going to skip it to that high shooter, only to snap his wrists at the last second to hit [player_tooltip player_id='176649' first='Oden' last='Duckett'] for a stepdown.

[player_tooltip player_id='176402' first='Colton' last='Walker'], who put up 139 points last season, is on track for another monster season in his senior year. Walker has played against a variety of defensive strategies in the high public school matchups, and he continues to produce at a high level, highlighted by a pair of 11-point performances. Walker's game starts with his ability to shoot on the run with either hand. His speed and change of direction allow him to consistently create enough separation to get his hands free, which is often the primary focus of a defense's game plan. That attention, however, opens up the rest of his offensive toolkit.

When defenses are forced to slide early, Walker shows strong awareness and vision as a distributor, comfortably moving the ball to open teammates. If he needs to take over as a scorer, he adds another layer through his dodging—effectively re-dodging, bouncing out, and attacking matchups multiple times within a possession. He also does a great job manipulating defenders with subtle posture changes, baiting checks, and lunges to free his hands. The North Greenville commit has a ton of different skills that will help him get minutes early at the next level.
