<!-- /wp:paragraph -->
<!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>This much anticipated game was a roller coaster affair. In the 1st quarter, Haverford jumped out to a 4-2 lead thanks to two goals from [player_tooltip player_id='127151' first='Chris' last='Burnetta'], as well as tallies from [player_tooltip player_id='23606' first='Conor' last='Morsell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='168070' first='Michael' last='Olender']. The Fords extended their lead to 6-3 in the second quarter.</p>

<!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>Coming out of the locker room after the half, Loyola's offense started rolling and they tightened the screws on defense too. Early in the 3rd quarter, Loyola's [player_tooltip player_id='142817' first='Luca' last='Ball'] dodged from X and turned the corner. As he crossed GLE, Ball fired a lefty shot into the net. That goal triggered a scoring blitz by Loyola which produced five of the next six goals in this game.</p>

<!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>As a result of its second half surge, Loyola Blakefield won this Maryland versus Philly contest, 9-8. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Kury proved to be a shifty offensive prospect with a precise shooting touch and a high IQ. On Tuesday, Kury scored two goals for the Dons and applied constant pressure on the Haverford defense. During the 1st quarter, Kury's right hand snipe off pick-n-pop action got Loyola on the board. Late in the 2nd quarter, Kury made a beautiful cut to the far post, caught a pass from X and then finished via an overhand dunk. In addition to showing his scoring prowess, Kury also made several timely passes in this game.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">This Ohio State commit is the epitome of an elite, two-way defender. In the win over Haverford McCottry displayed incredible speed and athleticism as well as a wicked long-range shot. On two separate occasions in this game, McCottry raced up field to join the fast break, caught a pass on the run, then set his feet and fired a missile into the net. Both of those impressive scoring efforts were unleashed from 15-18 yards out. On defense, this lefty provided tenacious on-ball pressure and frequently secured GBs in traffic. Plus, McCottry executed a handful of effective double teams. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Early in this game, Loyola was a mess on defense and the only thing kept the score from getting out of control was the stellar play of Powell. On several Haverford possessions during the first half, Powell turned away a barrage of quality shots. Additionally, Powell did not allow a goal in the 3rd quarter, which was a major reason Loyola was able to claw its way back into this game. This Maryland commit proved to be an extremely agile prospect with fast hands. His ability to stop shots that Haverford generated around the crease was remarkable.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">The Harvard commit registered two goals and an assist in the first half, as he was one of the keys to Haverford's dominant start to this game. His second goal was the result of a crafty sweep from X to the back post where Burnetta quick sticked a pass from [player_tooltip player_id='23606' first='Conor' last='Morsell'] into the net before being checked into the crease. That was just one example of the high lacrosse IQ and polished stick skills from Burnetta in this contest. Burnetta also flashed a powerful outside shot on a sidearm rip from 12-yards out that found pay dirt. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Morsell recently posted back-to-back games in which he scored five goals. As a result, Loyola's defense was focused on stopping Morsell via early slides and a few double teams. Morsell countered that scheme by quarterbacking Haverford's offense all game. He smartly moved the ball to teammates being defended by short sticks, directed set plays, and dropped two impressive dimes. Morsell displayed incredible field vision on both of his assists. The Notre Dame commit also scored a goal via a fantastic individual effort. On that score, Morsell patiently possessed the ball at X where he threw a pass fake that turned a few heads. Morsell then dashed around the cage, executed a shot fake as he crossed GLE, and finished by slipping a lefty shot over the shoulder of the Loyola goalie. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Early in the 2026 season, Olender has established himself as one of the top offensive threats in Pennsylvania's Class of 2028. On Tuesday, that trend continued against Loyola, as Olender notched a hat trick. Olender scored one goal in transition as well as two goals in 6v6 action. His precise shooting touch was obvious on all three goals. Olender's most impressive scoring effort was a rocket to the top, near corner that came off pick-n-pop action. His crafty off-ball movement produced the other goal in settled action. </p>
