For now, here are four attackmen and four midfielders poised to make a major impact in one of Virginia's toughest classifications.

Attack

[player_tooltip player_id='174443' first='Jack' last='Milone'], Sr., Langley

Milone committed to Mercer in October after erupting for 74 goals and 31 assists last spring, and he was the only junior named VHSL Class 6 First Team All-State. He produces by being one of the most athletic players on the field, consistently torching matchups with speed. What makes him especially difficult to game-plan for is where and how he dodges. Milone attacks from up top, an uncomfortable spot for many close defenders, and he's dangerous on the run with a high velocity and accurate shot. Add a lights-out step-down shot and a left hand that actually holds up under pressure, and he becomes a real problem for defenses.

[player_tooltip player_id='120561' first='Nate' last='Randles'], Jr., Yorktown

The early Penn State commit, and the No. 32-ranked player nationally in the 2027 class, was absolutely dominant this summer for Madlax. After posting 101 points last spring, he became one of just two sophomores to earn VHSL Class 6 Second Team All-State honors. Expect even more production this year, even as teams do everything they can to take away his touches. A true two-handed X attackman, Randles brings a complete, well-rounded package. With the ball, he's slippery in tight spaces, finishes from tough angles, and dishes dimes when the slide commits. Off ball, he's equally dangerous sneaking the pipes.

[player_tooltip player_id='168066' first='Zach' last='Stinchon'], Jr., Battlefield

Still uncommitted, Stinchon made his mark as a sophomore by becoming one of only two underclassmen to earn VHSL Class 6 Second Team All-State honors after posting 49 goals and 10 assists in the spring. Now a junior, he's positioned to build on that production as defenses put more attention on him. I came away especially impressed with him at the Terp Classic in November, where his game translated in multiple ways: he can win with a dodge, he's active and intelligent off ball, and he finishes cleanly when the opportunity is there.

[player_tooltip player_id='174445' first='Sean' last='Kovalsky'], Sr., West Potomac

Kovalsky is coming off a dream season, capped by the game-winning goal in the final seconds to seal West Potomac's historic state championship run. With a veteran-heavy group now graduated and plenty of new faces around him, he'll have every opportunity to show he can be the focal point, not just the finisher. Still uncommitted heading into his senior year, Kovalsky should be motivated to turn that championship moment into a full-season statement.

Midfield

[player_tooltip player_id='174447' first='Cole' last='Samburg'], Sr., Langley

Samburg earned VHSL Class 6 First Team All-State and USA Lacrosse All-American honors after putting up 63 goals and 38 assists while winning 75% (165/220) at the X. He's one of the most impactful players in Virginia because he affects every phase of the game—driving offense, winning possessions at the X, and taking shifts on defense as an SSDM. He's an elite scorer on the extra-man unit and off the dodge in all even. At the X, he exits quickly, battles for every ground ball, and routinely turns faceoff wins into immediate offense. And when Langley needs stops, he has the athleticism to match up as an SSDM.

[player_tooltip player_id='174454' first='Parker' last='Morrow'], Sr., Cosby

Cosby will lean on Morrow heavily this spring, as he's the only returning All-State player from last year's five first-team selections. Listed at 5′6", the uncommitted senior still packs a punch. A converted defensive player, he impacts the game on both ends. Offensively, he's nimble, tough to get a stick on, and uses both hands efficiently to gain a step out of his dodges. Defensively, he's a bulldog who plays bigger than his size and makes opponents feel his presence.

[player_tooltip player_id='174449' first='Declan' last='Sheahan'], Sr., Battlefield

Coming off a spring in which he earned VHSL Class 6 Second Team All-State and First Team All-Region honors, Sheahan is one of the best dodgers in Virginia because he can initiate from anywhere on the field. The uncommitted senior pairs that versatility with a heavy shot that can blow past most goalies, and his ability to play both ways only raises his value in tight games.

[player_tooltip player_id='174451' first='Nicolas' last='Williamson'], Sr., Madison

The Lynchburg commit earned VHSL Class 6 Second Team All-State honors last spring after posting 42 goals and 30 assists. A lefty who can carry an offense, Williamson is set to become Madison's main focal point as the Warhawks replace a senior-heavy group and navigate a tough regular-season schedule with postseason expectations. He'll be ready for the extra attention because teams will try to slide early and force the ball out of his stick. Williamson counters that well with sharp re-dodges that delay or punish slides, and he's dangerous as a finisher—especially with a nasty on-the-run shot.

Others considered:

[player_tooltip player_id='174456' first='Michael' last='Cowan'], Sr., Yorktown / St. Mary's (MD)

[player_tooltip player_id='174458' first='Cyrus' last='Shams'], So., Lake Braddock
