Nevada 2029s to Know This Spring

This spring, I'll be keeping a close eye on several Nevada 2029 prospects who have already begun to separate themselves with their effort, athleticism, and potential moving forward.    Aaron Tanner is a player to watch for due to his grit, athleticism, and competitiveness. He fights tenaciously for loose ground balls and can escape scrums thanks to his speed. He also has some dodging ability and can burn a defender if he catches them on their heels. On the other end of the field, he gets after it and plays with physicality that can give his team a jolt of energy. I also like how he's always locked in and gives 110% effort. All in all, he has the chance to make waves throughout his high school career. And I'm looking forward to watching him continue to develop.     Greyson Weiss has turned heads throughout middle school, and I expect no different in high school. He's one of the more aggressive prospects in the 2029 class that I've seen, and his strength allows him to power past body and stick checks when he wants to get downhill. He also has a fairly powerful shot and can place it where the goalie isn't. In addition to his offensive skill set, Weiss is a bruiser on defense and creates turnovers with swift checks and physical play. Overall, he's a very well-rounded prospect, and I wouldn't be surprised if he earns some varsity minutes this spring.     Palmer Pavicich is an LSM/defender who makes his presence felt by keeping opponents uncomfortable with relentless pressure and physical checks. He also stays disciplined and in good position during 6-on-6 situations. Pavicich has the wheels to push the ball upfield after causing a turnover and can jumpstart transition. With plenty of time left to develop, he's a prospect who has the potential to become a defensive stud at the high school level.     Kellen Fines is a faceoff master who routinely wins the clamp thanks to his anticipation, quick hands, and years of experience. He also has the awareness to feel defenders on his back and will promptly dish it to a teammate once he's secured the rock. While he excels at the X, he can also find the back of the net by making smart off-ball cuts. Defensively, he's physical and will lay into an opponent's hip when they dodge to shrink their shooting angle or push them out of range altogether. Expect him to be a difference maker for the Pirates this year.     Gage Priest has the burst to get by defenders and can bury shots when he gets to the middle. His acceleration and change-of-direction ability also give him an edge on the ride, where he can catch opponents off guard and force turnovers. I also like his competitive mindset, he plays to win and doesn't take possessions off.
