There's just an overall commanding presence about Davies that jumped out to me, as his playmaking set the tone all day for his Hawkeyes team, for which he played alongside his twin brother, Jake. In the last game of the day, Austin asserted himself with a clean interception that directly led to a transition goal by Nash Parker on the other end. He was strong off-ball and formidable in coverage, moving his feet and hips well to match quick dodgers and putting himself in the position to hinder their scoring ability. Davies is impactful and active with his stick, catching his opponent slipping with a smooth trail check to jar the ball loose on more than one occasion. He's also exceptional as a communicator and played an integral role for his defense.

Hanging your stick around Hayden seems to be an ill-advised decision
— he executed a downright nasty over-the-head check on an unsuspecting FOGO right in front of me that directly led to a goal. An excitable left-hander who is the type of defender who will follow his matchup into the parking lot, he has outstanding hands and is always hunting takeaways. He's smooth and dependable off the ground, so he provides a tremendous boost off the wings and in the middle of the field. I'm already looking forward to seeing more of his game, especially in a more structured team setting.

An absolute moose at 6'4 and 215 pounds, this Ontario native passes the eye test in every sense but moves exceptionally well for his size. The lefty plays with ever-present physicality and never hesitates to put his shoulder down, but he also has superb hands and high-level stick work and deception. He dodges hard downhill and has an array of fakes to freeze defenses, and weaved through traffic to finish with poise. Tremblay always looked comfortable and assertive, but his vision and unselfishness also stood out. At one point, he wound up like he was going to shoot and tossed an excellent pass over to his teammate on the doorstep.

There are positives and negatives when evaluating goalies in a showcase setting, where they lack familiarity and structure with the defenders. He started off with a big game but as the day progressed, things didn't always go his team's way, yet Choi responded admirably and showed off the qualities that make him a promising young goalie prospect with considerable upside. A highly athletic lefty with an explosive top hand, Choi made some acrobatic saves when going low. Out of the cage, he was more than happy to clear the ball over midfield himself and show off his athleticism. He communicated at a high level and seemed to be a rock-solid leader, especially when his team needed his positivity following some defensive miscues.

I really appreciated Cornell's game and how he seemed to be heavily involved at all times. Combining for five goals in Game 1 while working great in tandem with Medfield (Mass.) and 3d New England attackman Maverick McPherson, Cornell demonstrated his explosiveness, slickness, and overall savvy feel for the game. He has an impressive dodging repertoire matched with a lights-out first step that he utilizes from a variety of spots. Always getting to his spots, I was struck by how under control Cornell always seemed to be, as there's a poise beyond his years. We saw a wide swath of Top 100 talents come out of Colorado in the Class of 2027, and Cornell looks to be on pace to be highly ranked in his own right.
