Over the last five weeks, Division I college programs located in Pennsylvania have done an incredible job of aggressively recruiting the Class of 2027. That hard work has paid off in the form of verbal commitments from an impressive list of 2027 prospects.

If colleges in Pennsylvania continue to stockpile high level 2027s at this pace, this recruiting class could go down as a historic group for DI programs in the Keystone State.

Below is a review of some of the key 2027 prospects that Villanova, Saint Joe's, Bucknell, Lehigh, and Drexel have already secured verbal commitments from this fall. ICYMI, check out our rundown of Penn and Penn State's fast starts as well.

Villanova

Head Coach Mike Corrado and his staff started their 2027 recruiting class in style by landing a trio of outstanding midfielders. The biggest name in that group of middies is Brendan Mulderig out of Loomis Chaffee (Conn.). In 6v6 action, Mulderig is a lethal perimeter shooter. Mulderig also excels in transition thanks to his speed and elusive change-of-direction moves.

Charlie Dunn and Chase Donohue complete the trio of 2027 midfielders 'Nova corralled over the last five weeks. During his sophomore campaign, Dunn registered 24 goals to go along with 24 assists for Chatham (NJ). In addition to piling up points, Dunn plays with an extremely physical edge to his game. Donohue is an athletic and fast midfielder who contributes on both ends of the field. He was a key part of Salesianum's run to the 2025 Delaware state title.

Other noteworthy 2027 early commits for the Wildcats include LSM Will Klauder out of St. John's in Washington (D.C.) and Christian Brothers (N.J.) standout FOGO John Little.

Bucknell

The Bison got off to a hot start this fall by securing verbal commitments from eleven 2027s. Early on, Bucknell's 2027 recruiting class is a positionally balanced group.

Headlining Bucknell's September list of commits is defenseman Benjamin Phillips. The St. John's (D.C.) prospect can cover in space or play a physical brand of defense down low. Plus, Phillips owns the speed and stick skills to clear the ball himself and then contribute on offense. Other early commits on the defensive end for Bucknell include a pair of fleet-footed LSMs in Nico Dinisio of Mount St. Joseph (Md.) and Henry Doherty from Mamaroneck (N.Y.).

Plus, Bucknell landed a beast for the last line of defense in goalie Freddie Moring. The combination of his extraordinarily fast hands and excellent tracking skills enables Moring to blanket every corner of the cage.

Midfielder David Sala and attackman Hunter Pallai highlight Bucknell's list of early commits on offense. Sala is an extremely athletic two-way midfielder from Sacred Heart Prep in California. Pallai is a serious scoring threat with a quick burst and filthy shooting skills. Last season, Pallai scored 25 goals as he helped Staples win the Connecticut Class LL state title.

Saint Joe's

Thus far, Saint Joe's 2027 recruiting class is heavy on talented offensive players. Midfielder Lee Warren was an incredible pickup for the SJU coaching staff. Warren is an extraordinary three-sport athlete at Guilderland HS in New York. On the lacrosse field last spring, this explosive lefty recorded 67 goals to go along with 32 assists.

Fellow midfielder Stellan Wright was another fantastic pickup by SJU. Wright, who plays at McCallie (Tenn.), is a powerful downhill dodger who can initiate from up top and then score or distribute on the run. The Hawks scored a verbal from talented McDonogh (Md.) attackman TC Goodman, too. Goodman can destroy opposing defenses by operating on the crease or from X. His well-timed off-ball movements and ability to play with either hand create serious issues for opposing defenses.

On the defensive side, Saint Joe's was able to pull in a local standout in SSDM Garrett Quinn from Malvern Prep.

Lehigh

A midfielder and face-off specialist are at the top of Lehigh's early commit list for the Class of 2027. The first is Jahyden Maiorani, who has the speed, skills, and physicality to excel as a two-way midfielder. As a sophomore at Pittsford Sutherland (N.Y.), Maiorani's lateral quickness and timely crow bars created frequent turnovers. Maiorani often pounced on those turnovers and then led Pittsford's transition charge.

A standout for Episcopal Dallas, face-off specialist Trystean Warburton is a strong wrestler and athletic FOGO with quick reactions and technically sound mechanics. That list of assets produces a slew of clean wins, which enables Warburton to sprint towards the cage for a goal or an assist.

One of Lehigh's 2027 recruits that is flying under the radar is Grady Figler from Belmont Hill School in Massachusetts. Figler is a speedy attackman with elite finishing skills. He can operate as an initiator from anywhere in the offensive end and Figler thrives in two-man game action.

Lehigh also struck gold in their own backyard with long pole Marcus McComsey from Downingtown West in Pennsylvania. McComsey excels at creating a turnover, picking up the ensuing ground ball and then racing into the offensive zone to generate a scoring opportunity.

Drexel

The foundation of Drexel's impressive 2027 recruiting class was built by securing fall commitments from prospects who play at schools in the Delaware Valley. Early on, the big name the Dragon's coaching staff has netted is multi-talented longstick midfielder AJ Dellorco. This Colorado native and Lawrenceville School (N.J.) product assembled a monster summer 2025 circuit where he displayed elite two-way pole skills. His speed and athleticism really popped on the field.

Drexel hit home runs with commitments from Easton Messina (Perkiomen School, Pa.) and [player_tooltip player_id='143407' first='Rocco' last='Davis'] (La Salle), too. Messina is an attackman from Canada with filthy stick skills and the ability to fire lasers into the back of the net from anywhere in the offensive end. Messina's off-ball capabilities are elite as well. Davis is a FOGO with imposing size, powerful hands, and a quick first step. He is considered one of the top 2027 FOGOs in Pennsylvania.

Another impressive 2027 prospect who has already verballed to Drexel is attackman Ryder Scott. In 2025, Scott racked up 34 goals and 25 assists for Mt. St. Joe in Maryland before transferring to Calvert Hall during the offseason. Scott is a natural lefty, but he can shoot and feed with either hand. His ability to rip on net from creative angles is impressive.

Over the last five weeks, Division I college programs located in Pennsylvania have done an incredible job of aggressively recruiting the Class of 2027. That hard work has paid off in the form of verbal commitments from an impressive list of 2027 prospects.
