Among the Best in Class standouts, Ben Mather showcased the kind of balanced offensive skill set college coaches love—distributing at a high level while still proving he can score in bunches. With the ball in his stick, he's a poised and dynamic dodger who reads his defender exceptionally well. He can beat you with pure speed, sharp change of direction, or subtle deception on his re-dodges.

Even off the ball, Mather's IQ shines. He constantly manipulates defenders by positioning himself behind sliders with his stick low, then bursts into open space, presenting a target for quick-stick finishes. With his combination of vision, footwork, and timing, Mather brings a well-rounded, polished offensive game that makes everyone around him better.

It wasn't just the gold helmet — Trey McDonald's game carried shades of the Kavanagh brothers with his creativity, toughness, and ability to take over from X. The lefty attackman thrives operating behind the cage, where he's a nightmare in 1-on-1 situations. His dodges are built on constant change of speed and direction, using rockers and hesitation moves to freeze defenders before exploding past them with quick bursts of acceleration.

McDonald is equally confident using both hands and has a deep arsenal of moves to keep defenders guessing. When defenses send the slide, he punishes them with sharp vision and pinpoint skip passes that lead directly to scoring opportunities. With his blend of flair, IQ, and playmaking, McDonald looks like one of the most dynamic offensive prospects that we've seen in the 2028 class.

Shifty and slippery, [player_tooltip player_id='166651' first='Luke' last='Dessi'] made his presence felt at the Best in Class Fall Showcase. The lefty attackman thrived both behind the cage and near the crease, showcasing his versatility as both a dodger and off-ball threat. Coming up from GLE, he was terrific at creating offense, scoring up the hashes, executing inside rolls, or threading feeds to open teammates.

Off the ball, Dessi proved to be a tough cover thanks to his awareness and constant movement, always positioning himself just out of sight of defenders. One of his most advanced plays came when he used subtle hitches to bypass an open 12-yard look and work for an even higher-quality shot — a sign of maturity beyond his years. With his IQ, patience, and creativity, Dessi projects as a polished offensive weapon in the 2028 class.

One of the more confident and creative players at BIC, [player_tooltip player_id='166601' first='Michael' last='Ferrucci'] stood out for both his flair and efficiency. As a dodger, he has a deep bag of moves to free his hands, whether it's beating defenders up the hashes with speed, leaning into contact to create separation, or using change of direction to get to the middle. As a feeder, he's fearless threading passes through traffic and often connects on difficult looks that others wouldn't attempt. Ferrucci also showed off his flair with behind-the-back feeds and quick shovel finishes that weren't just for show—they were effective, well-timed plays that showcased his confidence and creativity. He's a dynamic playmaker with the kind of swagger that keeps defenses guessing.

With an arsenal of ways to hurt a defense, Jack Egan was one of the top offensive weapons at the Best in Class event. The pure lefty boasts a smooth, deceptive release that's both quick and hard to read, consistently hiding his stick until the last possible moment before snapping it past goalies with precision. He can score just as effectively on the run as he can with his feet set, and his change-of-direction moves—especially his sharp lefty rollback—keep defenders guessing. When slides finally come, Egan's field vision and poise allow him to move the ball quickly and find open teammates, making him one of the more complete offensive threats in attendance.

Zellmann has a well-rounded skill set and a handful of advanced traits rarely seen in his age group. With the ball, he's a powerful downhill dodger who's not afraid to use his strength and run through contact. His shot is a major weapon—an absolute cannon with just enough deception to freeze goalies before it blows past them. Zellmann also excelled in the two-man game, showing a strong feel for adjusting picks and creating problems for defenders behind the cage when he had a short stick on him. With his blend of strength, shooting ability, and IQ, Zellmann's game is progressing in a way to make him a high level prospect.
