Expert Analysis
Kyle Devitte | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Egan’s ability to score is his calling card, but don’t just label him as a finisher. The dude can get up over and around defenders with a variety of dodges. He’s got excellent separation, which shouldn’t be a surprise given his basketball background. Usually that skill set translates more ot defense than offense, but Egan shows why the physicality and spatial awareness translate to offense as well. Of course, it helps that he’s got more than just height; he can play inside or outside, up top or on the wing. Oh, and he’s extremely two-handed as a shooter. However, I think he shines brightest when it comes to feeding; he hits a diagonal ball to the back pipe just as well as anyone in this class, whether he is floating, driving, or bouncing out.

Read EvaluationMichael Campanile | Prep Lacrosse Scout
With an arsenal of ways to hurt a defense, Jack Egan was one of the top offensive weapons at the Best in Class event. The pure lefty boasts a smooth, deceptive release that’s both quick and hard to read, consistently hiding his stick until the last possible moment before snapping it past goalies with precision. He can score just as effectively on the run as he can with his feet set, and his change-of-direction moves—especially his sharp lefty rollback—keep defenders guessing. When slides finally come, Egan’s field vision and poise allow him to move the ball quickly and find open teammates, making him one of the more complete offensive threats in attendance.
