Delaware Valley 2027s Flying Off the Board

Below is a review of Class of 2027 prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and South Jersey (the Delaware Valley) who are now “off the board” after they gave their verbal commitment to a DI program this past week.    DeNick is one of the most technically sound and patient close defenders in New Jersey's Class of 2027. He excels in 1v1 situations because his defensive footwork is next level. That asset allows DeNick to stay tight to a ball carrier and turn him multiple times. When that offensive player eventually presents an opening, DeNick will strike with a powerful stick check or crafty lift and create a turnover. DeNick's high IQ and communication skills make him a fantastic team defender too. His well-time slides and double teams frequently lead to defensive stops. This fleet footed defender with refined stick skills excels a picking up ground balls too. He also is a plus player in the clearing game. DeNick is an impressive multi-sport athlete who was a highly regarded football prospect too. This past week DeNick committed to Rutgers.     Dodia is an athletic and highly versatile LSM who recently announced his commitment to Penn State. The Nittany Lions are getting a Top 70 ranked prospect with legitimate two-way skills. At the defensive end, Dodia's polished footwork, active stick and physicality make him an on-ball menace. His well-timed stick checks, overheads and can openers create frequent turnovers. Dodia also has a knack for intercepting ill-advised passes too. Once the ball is in his stick, Dodia's speed will carry him into the offensive end for a transition scoring opportunity. His change of direction moves and ability to plow through checks make Dodia a threat to go deep below the restraining line on the break and then fire a shot on the run.        Lafayette took recruiting their own backyard to another level when they received a verbal from this Easton High School superstar. McPeek is a 6'4” super athlete who excels in transition and is a matchup nightmare in settled action. The trifecta of his size, speed and filthy stick skills enables McPeek to go coast to coast and then shoot or distribute on the run. On the fast break, McPeek can run past, around or through opposing players. During 6v6 possessions, McPeek's quick burst gets him downhill in a hurry. His solid frame and aggressive style then enable him to absorb significant contact on his way to the cage. This talented midfielder's powerful and accurate perimeter shooting must be respected too.  McPeek has already amassed 200+ points in his varsity career at Easton.     Meredith was a popular prospect during early September and after taking a few campus visits, he committed to Dartmouth. He is a physically intimidating goalie with quick reflexes and an attacking style. Meredith does a remarkable job of tracking ball carries, cutting down the angles and then stepping to the shooter. This 4-star net minder is known for his clean saves, but on the rare occasion where there is a loose ball, Meredith will immediately scramble to secure possession. Meredith has displayed poise beyond his years and his vocal leadership keeps the defense connected. During his sophomore season at Hill, Meredith stopped 55% of the shots he faced.     The No. 1 ranked played in the Class of 2027 has been making frequent headlines of late. At the end of August, Sobel announced he had departed Springside Chestnut Hill Academy and enrolled at IMG Academy in Florida. Now comes the news that Sobel has given his verbal commitment to Syracuse. The Orange coaching staff must be thrilled with the addition of this 5-star goalie to their 2027 recruiting class. Sobel possesses imposing size, fast hands, and incredible agility. His ability to track shooters combined with his elite stick skills produce a high percentage of clean saves. After his fantastic sophomore campaign Sobel was named as an All-American as well as a 1st Team All-Inter-Ac selection.
