Ten Uncommitted Rising Seniors to Know

As the 2025 summer club lacrosse season winds down, college coaches are finalizing their 2026 recruiting classes and turning their attention towards building depth charts for the rising 2027 class. While the spotlight has shifted towards the 2027 juniors who are in their recruiting year, there are still several high-level 2026 players who remain uncommitted and are more than capable of making an impact at the next level.   Despite most Division I rosters being finalized, it's important to note that not all doors are closed. There are still a handful of Division I programs with open spots, whether due to late decommitments, unexpected roster shifts, or specific positional needs. More notably, there are a large number of Division II and Division III programs that are actively looking to build their 2026 classes and are eager to find talent that may have slipped through the cracks. For uncommitted rising seniors, there are still plenty of viable options on the board, especially for those who remain proactive and ready to showcase themselves.   One challenge for 2026 rising seniors is the structure of the club lacrosse calendar, which spans two academic years, starting in the fall and ending in the summer of the next year (e.g., Fall 2024 through Summer 2025). For this class, the summer before senior year typically marks the end of their club careers, meaning that they won't have a fall club season during their senior year of high school.   As a result, once summer concludes, these players lose a key platform to be seen by college coaches. The focus then shifts to prospect days and on-campus recruiting events that offer direct exposure to coaching staffs, facility tours, and a chance to demonstrate fit within a program.   Because these prospect days typically require registration and sometimes travel, players must be strategic about which schools they pursue and communicate effectively with coaching staffs ahead of time. Sending film, expressing genuine interest, and performing well at these events will be key for those still looking to land a home.   Although the road ahead may feel uncertain for some uncommitted 2026s, the reality is that many college coaches are still actively looking and making offers. Players who remain focused, disciplined, and persistent will still have chances to find the right fit, whether at Division I, II, or III level.   The door is not closed yet. The final stretch of the recruiting process begins now, and for those willing to put in the work, there's still plenty of opportunity ahead.   Here are Ten Uncommitted Rising Seniors that you should know about:    Brody Shapiro is a standout SSDM from Chaminade who brings elite athleticism and game-changing speed to both ends of the field. He's lightning quick between the lines and consistently wins footraces in transition. His strong first step makes him a dangerous dodging threat when he pushes offense, and he's just as effective on the defensive end as well, relying on quick feet and physicality to win one-on-one matchups. Whether he's locking down a top midfielder or creating separation off the dodge, Shapiro is a high-motor, two-way presence who impacts every phase of the game.     Jackson Foley is a versatile and physical defender out of St. Augustine Prep (NJ) who brings a football mentality to the lacrosse field. At 6'0, 180 pounds and a starting safety on the football team, Foley plays with toughness and urgency, delivering hard, clean checks and locking down both attackmen and midfielders with confidence. He's fundamentally sound with excellent footwork and stick discipline, and his speed allows him to stay hip-to-hip with dodgers or push the pace in transition. Equally comfortable at close defense or LSM, Foley is a dynamic playmaker who can spark offense by clearing the ball himself, and he isn't shy about letting it fly if the opportunity presents itself.     Gavin Duran is a 6'1, 185-pound standout who earned a varsity role as a sophomore at Chaminade, proving his physical presence and advanced defensive skillset early in his high school career. Duran brings a solid combination of size, speed, and physicality to both the close defense and LSM positions. A hard-hitting defenseman with excellent stick skills and athleticism, Duran thrives in high-pressure matchups and succeeds in the challenge of taking on the opposing team's top offensive weapon. His footwork and speed allow him to match up with quick attackmen around the crease or athletic midfielders dodging from up top. Tough, aggressive, and relentless in his approach, Duran is the kind of defender who can take over a matchup and change the game's overall outcome.     Declan Pettit is a 6'0, 175-pound two-way midfielder from Choate and Express North who makes a consistent impact on both ends of the field. Defensively, he stands out with his communication, off-ball awareness, and leadership, often acting as the vocal leader of the defensive unit. Offensively, Pettit has a quick first step that allows him to create separation and draw slides, making him a reliable initiator. He's quick enough to stay with the best midfielders and strong enough to win physical matchups, making him a dependable presence in high-leverage defensive situations. His combination of athleticism, toughness, and discipline makes him a valuable asset on any roster.     William Wilson is a 6'5 midfielder from Regis Jesuit (CO) and the Colorado Kings who moves with the agility and fluidity of a much smaller player. Exceptionally two-handed and deceptively shifty, Wilson can dodge with precision, create space, and finish from multiple angles. His size makes him a matchup nightmare, but it's his footwork and change of direction that truly separate him. He can operate from up top, the wings, or in transition, and he thrives in both settled and unsettled situations. With his physical tools, skillset, and versatility, Wilson has one of the highest ceilings in the 2026 class and continues to elevate his game every time he steps on the field.     Brendan Williams is a dynamic lefty midfielder from Westminster and Hilltop who brings speed, athleticism, and playmaking ability to the field. He's extremely fast and uses his burst to consistently create separation on his dodges, putting pressure on defenses and drawing slides. Williams is more than just a downhill threat, he has the vision to find open teammates and the hands to finish plays himself. His athleticism allows him to make an impact in transition, and his left-handed release adds another layer of danger to his offensive game. Williams is a high-upside midfielder who plays fast, attacks with purpose, and has the tools to be a problem at the next level.     Jack DiMaio is a high-level SSDM from Gonzaga and DC Express who brings a complete toolkit to the position. At 6'1, he has the size, strength, and lacrosse IQ to consistently win matchups and anchor the defensive midfield unit. DiMaio rarely gets beaten one-on-one, using sound footwork and positioning to smother dodgers and stay disciplined under pressure. He's excellent on ground balls, often coming up with key possessions and immediately looking to push the ball the other way. In transition, DiMaio is poised and aggressive, capable of jumpstarting fast breaks and creating scoring chances. He's a smart, tough, and reliable presence who thrives in one of the most demanding roles on the field.      William Hall is a commanding presence on the defensive end for Hotchkiss and 4Leaf, bringing a strong blend of physicality, IQ, and leadership to the back line. He has the size and athleticism to match up with top offensive threats and the discipline to consistently win both on-ball and off-ball battles. Hall communicates effectively and takes charge of the unit, organizing slides and coverages with confidence, showing maturity and leadership beyond his years. Connor McNamara is a 6'9 midfielder from Hotchkiss and Express North who brings a unique blend of size, skill, and lacrosse IQ to the field. Still growing into his towering frame, McNamara is already a tough cover as a downhill dodger, using his length to create separation and unleash a powerful shot on the run. He's also a smart, unselfish player who sees the field well and thrives as a facilitator, often drawing attention and finding open teammates with ease. As I have mentioned before, his presence is especially valuable on man-up, where his extended reach, combined with a 42-inch stick, creates a nearly 13-foot target on the crease. With his upside, vision, and physical tools, McNamara is a high-ceiling midfielder with a bright future.
