Palo Verde Outduels Bishop Manogue In The Championship, 12-11

He shot it from around 10 yards or so on the run to make it 1-1.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Carvalho then got back to work for the Panthers and wheeled it upfield into the box. He then used some deception to get closer to the goal and he put it down and away, making it 2-1. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Miners middie, Zeke Peterson, then responded and made it 2-2 by dodging from X and he then executed a perfect inside roll to get inside. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bishop Manogue then grabbed the lead a bit later when Ulie Anderson scored by getting inside. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Panthers attackmen Parker Nielson tied things up at 3 when he got to the middle of the field and scored. After the first quarter, the score was 3-3. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Langston Goodwin scored the next goal for the Panthers by launching a long range shot. Making it 4-3. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Benn Carvalho then made it 5-3 Panthers when he scored during a man-up opportunity. (His third goal of the half)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Later in the second quarter, Nolan Moore pulled off a quality roll dodge and got to the middle of the field and scored. Making it 5-4.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At this point of the game, the field was starting to get quite slippery. As there was some rain and hail coming down.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>But that didn't stop Elijah Peterson from gaining a full head of steam and he tied things up at 5-5 going untouched into the box.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Then before halftime, Palo Verde attackmen Mason Robinson received a skip pass at the top of the box and ripped a shot, to make it 6-5 Panthers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Both teams came out of the break ready to go. But they ended up only playing for a few minutes after there was lightning in the area. Which led to a weather delay being called. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Eventually the coast was clear, and things got going again. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When they did, Nolan Moore struck and tied things up at 6-6 after shooting on the run. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Elijah Peterson then gave the Miners the lead after he scored his 3 goal of the game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Seth Salinas then had plenty of space to set up for a time and room rip from the outside, and it went right by the Manogue goalie to make it 7-7. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Panthers were then looking to take the lead again, and Benn Carvalho tried to hit the wing with a pass. However it was slightly off target, but it made it's way to Salinas who was right next to the crease. He then collected it, and protected his stick before putting it in. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Miner attackmen, Brody Buck then got involved and scored after dodging from X to tie things up at 8. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The scoring wasn't over in the third quarter though. Parker Nielson then dodged from the wing and got his shot off despite pressure. Making it 9-8 Panthers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Right before the end of the third quarter, the Miners went man up and they kept possession so that they could start with the ball at the beginning of the fourth quarter. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>They then scored almost immediately. Elijah Peterson had the ball up top, and he then saw Ulie Anderson wide open. Anderson then put it in, and things were tied up at 9. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Langston Goodwin then scored again for the Panthers by ripping a quick shot after catching it on the wing.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Miners then drew a penalty, and they went back on man-up. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Nolan Moore had the ball near the top of the box and he then hit Brody Buck on the doorstep, tying things up at 10.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Zeke Peterson then almost gave the Miners the lead when he let go an underhand shot right in front of the goal. The ball did make it's way in, but the refs that it was a crease violation.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>But a couple of minutes later the Miners went man-up, and senior middie Nolan Moore had the ball. He then wisely looked inside and dished it to Brody Buck who put it away. Making it 11-10 Miners. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lefty, Parker Nielson, then tried getting to the middle but felt pressure. Which led to him rolling back to his right where he was able to attack and score. It was now tied up at 11 (the 10th tie of the game). </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Parker Nielson then gave the Panthers a late lead (12-11) by getting to the middle of the field shooting and then catching his own rebound. He then shot it again it went in. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Things then took a bit of a turn when a Palo Verde player got hit and went down. He appeared to be hurt, and then there was a few players who got into it. Luckily the coaches and refs got everybody separated.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The refs then decided to throw a couple of guys into the penalty box, and one Palo Verde player was ejected. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Due to the ejection, Bishop Manogue went back on man-up and tensions were high.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Out of the break, the Miner goalie mishandled a pass and then got a penalty for a hit. Which sent him to the box.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Manogue then had to send out there back up goalie, who got 1 minute to warm up. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With time dwindling down, the Miners needed to do something but they turned the ball over.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>They then had one last chance at it with less than 10 seconds left.
