The Bryant commit continued his amazing junior campaign with a game-high five goals. The lefty sniper had the second goal of the afternoon for Hills. Huntington came out in a zone and they paid for it, with good ball movement leading to Marco’s high bouncer that snuck right under the crossbar. Marco also had a goal on the EMO, as Huntington elected to shut off

during the penalty, allowing Marco to find space as a cutter, catch and finish. Marco has been deadly in unsettled situations this season and that continued on Monday. Off a violation, he hauled in a skip pass from Luke Bradley and was able to fight to the middle of the field to increase his angle and finish. In another unsettled situation, Marco beat his man and scored another high bouncer.
The No. 10 recruit in the junior class had another big day, finishing with four goals and two assists in the win. Hills was ready for the zone defense and was able to get Raio in spots to succeed. In the opening quarter, the UNC commit stung the top left corner on a cannon of a shot. Raio also displayed great vision constantly finding James Bruno in the first half. He does an excellent job dissecting the defense while dodging to find his open teammates. In the third quarter, Raio swept his defender and found a cutting Bruno for a goal. Arguably the most impressive sequence of the game for Raio started on defense. Hills sprinkled in a zone defense with Raio and another short stick playing the low pipes. Raio delivered lockdown defense during this stretch. Hills eventually got the ball back and it was Raio sprinting downfield and firing a righty laser down the alley for another goal.

After watching Bradley play against Huntington, it’s safe to say he plays a huge part in why they haven’t lost. One of the most underrated players on Long Island, Bradley is a do-it-all midfielder who impacted Monday’s game in all phases. It starts on faceoff wings, where Bradley picked up several groundballs and provided good wing play. He’s an aggressive defensive midfielder who got good jams and won most of his matchups, and is at his best when clearing and using his vision to create for others. Bradley’s feeding ability was on display with four assists, including some excellent looks. In this contest against Huntington, he had an enormous performance outside of the box score. The little plays are what makes Bradley so valuable.
If there’s a “must-see” longpole on Long Island, it might be

, who recently announced his intentions to play football (in addition to lacrosse) for Syracuse. Hills lets him operate as a regular member of the 6v6 settled offense and he produces, posting two goals and an assist on Monday. His stick skills and ability to handle the ball are as good as any pole on Long Island. Filardi’s first goal came off a low catch where he spun past a defender and finished from the low lefty spot in tight. His second goal came from an ISO behind the cage. Filardi came up above GLE where he initiated contact and successfully turned the corner and finished. His offensive success was accompanied by a solid game defensively. He was reliable on-ball and of course, made a big impact picking up several ground balls.

The junior goalkeeper picked the right time to get hot, as the excellent stretch for Santoro has continued here late in the season. After making 19 saves against Ward Melville, Santoro had another huge game against Huntington, posting 18 saves in the victory. Huntington was able to get some quality looks but most were definitely outside of 10 yards, and Santoro ate those up. Shots ranged from all different placements but Santoro was ready for the outside heat coming away with plenty of saves. At the end of the first half, Santoro denied Huntington any momentum with an incredible save on a high bouncer from a great angle. On low-angle shots, Santoro has superior positioning to make rather easy saves.

Hills threw a couple of different looks out there defensively, and one of them was extensive pressure. When Hills pressed out, you did not want to be guarded by Caiazzo. He had an excellent balance of aggressiveness and patience when attacking the ball carrier and applying pressure. He made his attackman extremely uncomfortable with the ball and refused to give up on plays. Making his presence felt early in the game, he caused a turnover, which led to Huntington taking a penalty right after. Caiazzo’s excellent defense continued, as he displayed great lifts and good footwork. The sophomore has a bright future for this young Hills team.

Bruno had another excellent day, finishing with four goals. He opened up the scoring for Hills after Huntington came out in a zone, and Bruno popped behind a defender for a quick catch-and-shoot tally from the outside. Against Huntington, he showed why he’s an elite off-ball player. His spatial awareness is extremely impressive and he constantly found soft spots in the defense. His second goal was off of a pass from Raio, who sent it to Bruno for a stunner of a top-shelf shot. In the second quarter, Bruno collected the hat trick with a well-placed 14-yard high bouncer. Lastly and arguably the most impressive play came from the fourth goal. Bruno’s off-ball movement was great, as he delivered an excellent “C” cut to find a pocket within the defense, and he showcased his extremely quick release for his fourth tally. Bruno is a pure scorer who now has 47 goals on the season.
