As noted in Wednesday's post on the top sophomores in the WCAC, there's a lot to like when it comes to the potential stardom that could come out of the DMV's Class of 2026. Today, we'll take a look at three of the traditional powers in the IAC, putting a spotlight on one sophomore from each program and going into a few more '26s worth knowing as the season approaches.

Heading into the 2024 season, it seems as though Landon is back to where it would like to be from a depth perspective, and this group has steadily built chemistry together over time. Along with Cohen, [player_tooltip player_id='19017' first='Makana' last='Neverosky'] is an intriguing young player who was listed as an attackman on last year's varsity roster but is more likely to put himself in a position to fight for time on the second midfield line. On defense, LSM [player_tooltip player_id='19029' first='Carter' last='DeSanto'] is likely to get backup reps behind Tufts recruit [player_tooltip player_id='23610' first='Davis' last='Owens'], while [player_tooltip player_id='19031' first='JT' last='Mathura'] also returns to the roster and could step into a bigger role at close.

The Little Hoyas will be loaded with depth, talent, and experience on the defensive end, where six commits return, so playing time will be tough to come by for young defenders. However, we could see sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='19018' first='Parker' last='Lee'] and [player_tooltip player_id='19020' first='Luke' last='McGlone'] out there at some point. Checking in at 6'0, Lee is a lefty transfer from Mira Costa (Calif.), where he was a '25 recruit, while McGlone put together a strong body of work on the summer circuit and might even be a candidate to see time at SSDM for the time being.

Bullis graduated a handful of multi-year starters on offense, so there will be plenty of competition for increased reps in the coming weeks. With a strong core in the Class of 2025, the Bulldogs had several underclassmen step into roles last spring, and it appears as though the program has some promising players in the sophomore class as well. In addition to Kuehl, [player_tooltip player_id='19028' first='Haden' last='Wade'] is another name to watch at the midfield, possessing great bloodlines as the brother of Tucker, IL's No. 24 freshman and a Princeton freshman, and the son of Hall of Famer and former All-World Team member Ryan Wade. Another DC Express standout, [player_tooltip player_id='18870' first='Avi' last='Ruiz'] is a natural attackman who made last year's varsity's roster, as did goalie [player_tooltip player_id='19033' first='Jake' last='Zamoiski'], who will back up Syracuse-bound senior Brayden Ferguson before stepping in as the full-time starter in 2025.
