Expert Analysis

Lavoy was dominant in every game I watched at the faceoff stripe at the New Balance All America games for Team Washington, DC. He went 4-for-5 against Team New Jersey and a perfect 6-for-6 versus New England—just the latest example of his consistent success at the X. In the spring with Western Albemarle (VA), Lavoy won 73% of his draws, scooped 78 ground balls, and added 13 goals and 7 assists, showing he’s far more than just a FOGO.
He has the kind of frame college coaches love—thick enough to win physical battles and hold positioning in box-out scenarios, but quick and fluid enough to scoop ground balls and escape pressure. Lavoy is explosive to the clamp, has a sharp feel for where to exit, and consistently finds space before defenders can react. He’s also confident with the ball in his stick, capable of handling fast-breaks or evading double teams. Lavoy’s blend of toughness, touch, and IQ makes him a great prospect for the 2027 class.
