Expert Analysis

Harvey isn’t afraid to get physical. He makes great checks and racks up incredible numbers of intercepted passes thus far in his career. His ground ball stats aren’t too shabby either. Despite the fact that he shines in transitions, Harvey plays a sound settled defense as well. He plays off natural instinct and hustles at times when others would back down. He is a coachable young talent ready to push his limits to the max.

Between Harvey and ’27 attackman James Holbrough, another contender for the No. 1 spot, Berkshire’s got quite a bit of star power for the next few years. Harvey, whom we highlighted heading into the season and proceeded to pop on tape all summer, is a high-motor and athletic longpole who never fails to make his presence felt. He’s consistently physical and makes life difficult for clearing middies between the lines, routinely catching them slipping. He had multiple caused turnovers in the All-Star Game, jarring the ball loose as a sliding defender and quickly moving the ball upfield himself. A Darien (Conn.) native, Harvey also put forth quite the highlight play earlier in the week when he executed a clean rusty gate against a clearing defender.

An offensive-minded LSM, Harvey has a knack for making momentum-changing plays with the ball in his stick. With his combination of size, athleticism, and physicality, he wreaks havoc between the lines and is a tremendous asset on the wings of face-offs due to his smooth stick work off the ground. A Darien native who has reclassed as a ’28, Harvey never fails to get his hands on ball-carriers and applies heavy pressure at all times. While he needs to continue to be more consistent with his footwork and approaches, he does a ton of things exceptionally well and has the potential to ultimately become one of the more coveted longstick midfield prospects in the class.
