About Van

What's your biggest strength as a player, and how does it show up in games?

My leadership in the crease and hand speed. In games, I take pride in being the vocal general on defense, setting up slides and calling ball movement while staying calm under pressure to make key saves and jumpstart fast-break clearing opportunities.

What are you working to improve right now?

I’m actively working on explosive footwork to the off-stick pipe and refining my decision making on long range outlets during high pressure clears. My goal is to consistently turn defensive stops into quick and clean offensive possessions of the ball.

What are you looking for in a college program?

I want a program with a strong team culture, passionate coaches, and rigorous academics. I value coaches with clear communication, patience, and relentless effort, and teammates that push each other to succeed on and off the field.

Outside of your sport, what should coaches know about you?

Outside of lacrosse, I’m a dedicated student who values balance, leadership, and community. I enjoy outdoor activities like fishing and camping. I take pride in maintaining a strong work ethic whether I'm at school, at work, or spending time with family.

What do you want to study, and what career interests you?

I am focused on studying Finance or Pre-Law. I also enjoy Political Science. I'm looking for a school with strong academic support where I can excel in the classroom and prepare for a rewarding post-graduate career.
