Expert Analysis
Carey Smith | Prep Lacrosse Scout
From the opening face-off, it was clear that the quick, skilled, and technically precise Davis was a man on a mission. That mission was to return La Salle to the 3A state championship game for the first time in four years. His dominance at the face-off dot pushed LaSalle to a 5-1 lead. When Springfield cut that lead to 5-3, Davis restored order by securing possession for La Salle, allowing the Explorers to add goals and wind the clock. Davis was 8-of-13 overall on the night and had three goals. Simply put, he is a cheat code and the most dominant face-off prospect in the area. His physicality and tenacity are off the charts. When you combine those assets with his ability to score with either hand as well as absorb punishment on the run, you get a unique face-off prospect. We expect Davis to have an immediate impact at Penn next year.

After a lights-out senior year at the face-off dot, the highly skilled and technically precise Davis was named an All-American selection. His ability to cleanly win the draw and generate an odd-man break is second to none in Pennsylvania. Davis possesses a solid frame and a bulldog mentality. That combination enables him to do the dirty work in a scrum and emerge with possession. Davis has also flashed the ability to stay on the field and use his physical dodges to present an additional offensive threat in La Salle’s settled action. The Penn Quakers are getting a prospect who should have an immediate impact next year.

From the opening faceoff it was clear that the highly skilled and technically precise Davis was going to have a monster afternoon. His astonishing performance at the face off dot in the first quarter staked LaSalle to a 5-0 lead. Of course, his clean win on the draw to begin the third overtime triggered the game deciding play. Davis was 19-of-20 overall on the day, which allowed LaSalle to play downhill for the entire contest. Davis owns quick hands and a solid frame. His physicality and tenacity are also major assets. He will be a welcome addition for Penn next year.
