Popow is a poised and high IQ midfielder with a knack for patiently reading the opposing defense until a high percentage opportunity presents itself. His creative and precise passing skills frequently catch defenses napping. When he is looking to score, Popow can get downhill from up top, run through stick checks, and then finish with powerful overhands or a quick release side arm shot. His ability to string together multiple spins and cuts makes him extremely difficult to defend in space. From the wing Popow does fantastic job of dipping underneath a defender and then charging to the net for a dunk. Popow has also proven he can sweep over the top from the wing and then ping corners or uncork a bouncer while on the move. This versatile midfielder can dodge going left or right and can pass or shoot with either hand. Popow’s step down shot is a legitimate weapon too.
