Old has soft hands and a relaxed demeanor in the goal. He can pass the ball accurately on the run and when throwing at a distance, hitting moving targets in stride. His body follows his hands when defending against shots, often getting his body behind the ball. I like how he doesn’t reach for shots, sinking to low ones and making some athletic saves in close.

Old was making some excellent passes and hit a guy going over the 50-yard line perfectly more than once. He made some nice low saves in the first half and had some key saves down the stretch, including one from a 10-yard shot followed by another body save.

With soft hands and quick reactions, Old does not allow many rebounds. He does a great job of controlling his body to make saves, plays angles well while waiting for shots, and has a very fluid motion while stepping. He also possesses good vision in the clearing game, getting his eyes up consistently after the save. Watch out for Old this upcoming season for Upper Arlington.
