Ryan Hoffman

About Ryan
Expert Analysis
Eric Bretz | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Hoffman played a pivotal role for Cherokee as a sophomore, finishing first on the team with 85 points and 54 goals, and second on the team with 31 assists and 55 ground balls. Before eventually losing in the state title game, he tallied eight goals and six assists in four state playoff games and was able to affect the game in various ways. He is a crafty lefty who makes plays even when nothing seems available to him. He stays active off-ball with hard cuts inside or setting himself up on the backside to fire off a powerful step-down shot. When dodging he has good speed to create space from his matchup and from there he keeps his head up for teammates or can sweep across the field for a high-percentage shot on the run. One of his best qualities is his effort when riding – he never gives up on the play and works hard to get the ball back for his team.
