About Preston

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay is disciplined, smart and gritty. I know when to make the right play in various game situations. I have a high level understanding of lacrosse and its nuances. I am disciplined in knowing when to go for the big takeaway check or passively stop the break. I am the guy that will go after every ground ball and make the diving play after a shot. I am not afraid to get physical.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I possess the following qualities: hard working, motivated, self-starter, high level listening & communication skills, born leader and top tier, lockdown, close defender. I am different than other recruits. I am the guy you must have on your team because I am coachable, follow rules, show maturity and take care of business in the classroom and on the field.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership skills by participating as a club officer and youth lacrosse coach. Through these leadership roles the skills I have developed translate to the lacrosse field. As a defender I help lead the defense as it is imperative for a defender to communicate during the game. I have dedicated more than 70+ hours to community service in the Tampa area.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I am a premature baby success story. When I was born, I weighed a mere 3 pounds 1.9 ounces. Through my resilience, I fought through my initial obstacles. After hours of hard work, I grew stronger and performed well athletically and academically.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a school that has high level lacrosse as well as high level academics. I don’t have a preference in the location or size. Finding a school with a good team culture that supports one another is important to me. I hope to be given the opportunity to follow my dreams to be a collegiate lacrosse athlete at a school that will set my path toward a career in law.
