About Noel

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with grit and speed, always looking to create turnovers and push transition. I’m quick off the ball, aggressive on defense, and focused on putting my team in the best position to succeed.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a team-first mentality and pride myself on being vocal, coachable, and dependable under pressure. I stay positive in tough moments and push myself and my teammates to work harder every day.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I participate in Blue Missions, a service organization where we travel to the Dominican Republic to work on clean water projects for local communities. Being part of building these projects and seeing the direct impact has taught me a lot about service, gratitude, and teamwork off the field.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Balancing academics, athletics, and community service has been challenging at times, but it has taught me time management, discipline, and how to stay focused on my goals.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My biggest challenge has been balancing constant self-improvement in both academics and athletics. I’ve pushed myself to get faster and stronger through training while also staying focused on ACT prep to reach my goal of a top academic school. Managing both takes discipline, but it keeps me motivated to grow every day.

What type of college are you looking for?

A school with strong academics, where I’m genuinely wanted for both lacrosse and academics, and that sets me up well for the future.

On Saturday Mendez displayed fantastic two-way LSM skills. On defense, Mendez’s speed and polished footwork enabled him to harass ball carriers all over the field. His crafty stick checks and lifts produced a host of turnovers. Mendez also showed he could navigate his way through / around screens. Mendez proved to be a plus offensive player in Hill’s transition game too. Several times on Saturday, Mendez picked up a ground ball or received a clearing pass and then sprinted into the offensive end to create an odd man break opportunity. The passing skills he displayed in transition were impressive. Lastly, Mendez was extremely effective as a wing LSM on face offs where he snared a number of GBs in traffic.
