Belmonte is an agile, lefty prospect from Canada with significant box lacrosse experience. In short, Belmonte can put the ball in the back of the net. His quick burst, change of direction moves and elusive stick maneuvers allow Belmonte to charge through entire defenses for scoring opportunities in close. On the move, Belmonte can ping corners, score off-hip or fire bouncers past opposing goalies. Belmonte is a legitimate perimeter threat too, as he can score via powerful overhands or sidearm rips from deep. This explosive offensive prospect can also carry the ball the behind the net and create scoring opportunities from X. Because of Belmonte’s scoring prowess, his passing skills are often overlooked. But Belmonte’s stick skills and ability to move a defense with his eyes / head make him a creative passer too.
