If it were my decision, Neavin would have earned MVP honors in the MIAA Championship. While Calvert Hall’s defense was phenomenal in front of him, Neavin was the backbone of the unit, finishing by my count with 12 saves against just six goals allowed before being pulled late in the fourth quarter.

He played calmly and confidently when the lights were the brightest, consistently coming up with timely stops. McDonogh’s scout clearly emphasized shooting low, but Neavin was seeing it well, showing strength at that level while also handling high shots and bouncers effectively. He checked every box—clearing it well, making the routine saves, and adding a handful of high-difficulty stops. Since taking over the starting role, Neavin has been solid against top-tier competition, and this performance only reinforced his standing. He continues to make a strong case as one of the, if not the, top uncommitted goalkeeper in the class.

Neavin stepped into a starting role for the Hall heading into its matchup against then-No. 1 Lawrenceville. While the game didn’t go the Cardinals’ way, he still recorded an unofficial tally of 13 saves and held his own against elite competition. Neavin brings a distinct energy between the pipes, showcasing excellent hand speed and forcing shooters to earn every look. He plays with a calculated aggressiveness, often baiting shooters and making acrobatic stops. His ability to move quickly pipe-to-pipe highlights his athleticism, and he’s proven to be reliable on low offerings. After securing clean saves, Neavin is quick to spark transition with crisp outlet passes. Though he’s still settling into the role, his trajectory is promising. As he continues to gain confidence, Neavin looks destined to continue elevating his game even further.

Even in an absolutely loaded goalie class, it’s head-scratching as to how Neavin is uncommitted nearly five weeks into 2027 recruitment. Watching him play throughout the fall and summer, his energetic playing style and twitchy athleticism are always on display, along with his fantastic hand speed and fundamentally sound technique. With a knack for making highly difficult saves look easy, the Pittsburgh native has a gift of baiting shooters and making them work for their opportunities. He plays with a ton of confidence, and once Neavin makes a save, he’s poised and quick to push transition with a precise outlet or put his athleticism on display out of the cage.
