Matthew is a fundamentalist who is ready to blast the ball. He is big & strong with a powerful step to the shot. Steffek is quick with his hands & helps start fast breaks in transition within seconds of getting through a save. He is described by coaches as a leader & communicator who has the right mold for the position. Matthew has a high Lacrosse IQ, understanding the challenges in goal while climbing towards greatness. He has an intimidating frame with the ability to stand tall & build a wall in the net on point-blank shots. Steffek shows poise in his stance while he changes levels fluidly keeping his stick in position to take away the top shelf. He does a fantastic job forcing shooters to adjust & change levels. Matthew is a gritty goalie who can get down low. Verbally committed to the Army.
