Matt Egan
About Matt
Expert Analysis
Ty Xanders | Prep Lacrosse Scout
The only explanation for Egan still being uncommitted is his hockey prowess, as he’s already been named an All-ISL pick twice and is having a stellar junior season on the ice. On the lacrosse field, all he did as a sophomore was lead all ISL midfielders with 61 points and finish Top 10 overall in that category, and that’s no easy feat given the level of competition. With his athletic 6’1 frame and assertiveness with the ball in his stick, he’s really difficult to stop once he gets a full head of steam and is capable of going to the rack with either hand. He’s also one of the better midfield passers in all of New England, constantly finding holes in defenses and taking advantage of the attention he’s given before throwing skip passes to teammates. As one might expect from a hockey player, Egan’s got snappy wrists and can make things happen with guys draped all over him.
