The most fluid, positionless member of the Thayer front line is headed to the Jumbos next fall. I have watched Croom in the Lake Placid tournament for the last few summers, and I’ve watched him adapt to do different things at each event. He’s one of the best riding attackmen that I think I’ve ever coached; he’s wildly tenacious in his pursuit of the ball. Croom can also dodge with serious deception and knows how to wiggle free of doubles. I have no idea where Tufts head coach Casey D’Annolfo and his staff are going to put him, but one of the reasons they went after him is that he is so versatile. A player who has no true position was recruited by a D-3 championship program. Imagine that.
