Expert Analysis
Ty Xanders | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Athletically, Kelly tested through the roof and may have been the weekend’s biggest winner in that regard. He tied with Khalif Hocker for first place overall with a 4.64 forty-yard dash, posted the highest vertical jump (22’1), and finished top five overall in three other categories during athleticism training.
As the summer progressed, Kelly kept catching my attention for his athleticism and ability to do a bit of everything at an above-average level. Watch him over the course of three or four games and you’ll appreciate all that he does to lift his team, even if it’s not always sexy. Does he project as an offensive recruit? Is he a d-middie at the next level? That’s still to be determined, but I don’t think you can put someone like Kelly in a box. Just as he’s done up until this point, he’ll head to Michigan and help solidify whichever unit he joins, giving the Wolverines another wildly athletic weapon in the middle of the field.
