Continuing to raise his stock in a major way, Danna was named Co-Offensive MVP after the weekend. He was flat-out ridiculous on Saturday, coming out of the gates with a wildly impressive five-goal showing in Game 1 before adding a pair of tallies to end the day. An incredibly athletic and smooth left-handed dodger, Danna made a killing by exploding past his man and burying shots on the run in head-turning fashion. The placement of his shots was noteworthy – just about every goal found one of the corners, and his snappy three-quarters release made it tough for goalies to get a read on his shots. Given how much success he was having, Danna stayed aggressive throughout but was disciplined with his shot selection and never forced anything. He has a really strong understanding of spacing and knows how to set up his dodges to give himself the best chance to score, with more than enough athleticism to beat guys to space on a routine basis. Once he puts his foot in the ground, good luck.

Danna is one of those players who turns heads and makes you ask, “Who is that kid?” He can take control of a game whenever his team needs it. Last season, he scored 7 points against a down-state rival NY squad in Corning. He is a quick lefty with a burst that few defenders can match. He gets by defenders to get his hands free and has a snappy release out of it, especially down the left alley. His speed and quick first step will immediately translate to goals for the Nittany Lions.

Danna’s another dynamic offensive stalwart who raised his stock in a major way at New Balance weekend. An athletically gifted left-hander who glides with the ball in his stick, he separates like you’d expect from the son of an NFL assistant coach. On a few occasions, he got several steps ahead of a few of the most athletic midfielders in the country before uncorking shots on the run. Danna’s 11 goals ranked second at the event, as did his four assists. It’s more than just his production though, it’s how he produced. He flew by everybody and just moved differently from his peers, and as a passer, he took what the defense gave him and tossed some terrific skip passes. Penn State got a gem in Danna.
