Bruette was an absolute warrior during Penncrest’s 9-8 defeat of Twin Valley in an epic, five-overtime 2A contest. In this marathon semifinal game, Burette went an incredible 23-of-29 on face-offs. Included in those 23 wins was a beautifully executed clamp and defensive snap to his short stick wing to begin the fifth and final overtime. Bruette used a variety of techniques to secure possession throughout Penncrest’s thrilling win. He was especially effective at using clean pick-n-pops to gain possession. Tuesday night, Bruette’s stamina was remarkable, but even more impressive was his high IQ and poise. The longer the game extended, the more conscious Bruette seemed to become about securing possession and then getting Penncrest into settled action.
