One of my favorite two-way midfielders at the Terp Classic was 3d Georgia product and Army commit Linkin Miller. On offense, he’s an athletic dodger with excellent change of direction, speed, and vision to find teammates after drawing slides. He’s confident redodging when the first look isn’t there, and as a shooter, he uses a variety of release points to keep goalies guessing. His range is impressive, especially when he uses defenders as screens to extend it. On defense, Miller’s athleticism shows through his footwork and physicality. He plays with an edge and has developed a smooth “crowbar” move that’s led to more than a few turnovers. Miller’s two-way presence and competitive edge will fit perfectly in Army’s hard-nosed style of play.
