One of three Canadian lefties committed to Penn State in the Nittany Lions’ 2027 class, Bladon finished with four goals on the day, with two of his goals coming during the Pios’ 4-0 run in the middle of the game. In addition to his scoring ability, his elite stick skills continued to shine, as he was constantly hauling in passes thrown his way that were less than ideal. He found the back of the net on a pretty backhander midway through the first quarter, curling around the crease on a cut, accepting a pass, and finishing cleanly in style. Then, with just over a minute remaining until halftime, Bladon cranked one high past

, a fellow Canadian 2027 who has enjoyed a terrific junior season. Bladon had a brilliant backdoor cut in the third quarter, then buried one with less than a minute left, right after Harmon jumped back into the net. Overall, Bladon was a force without the ball, showed off his silky mitts, and was exceptionally efficient throughout the game.

Bladon was a tough assignment for his matchups at this event. He is a strong lefty attackman who plays with a mix of finesse and bully-ball with the way he dodges. He is big and strong enough to drop his shoulder into his defender and get them off-balance, or he can shimmy and toe-drag his matchup to get underneath for a good look with a quick burst of speed. The Penn State commit tallied a pair of goals vs. La Salle and four goals vs. Taft as he displayed his ability to create space on his dodges and initiate offense to draw slides from the defense. With time and room, he showcased a rocket of a shot and mixed up his shot locations to stay unpredictable.

Quite frankly, I have no clue how Bladon didn’t make the All-Star Game at Showtime, putting up at least eight goals and two assists and making it look downright pretty along the way. The tall lefty from Ontario is a tremendously talented shooter who can fit his shots into the tightest of windows and has a nasty release. Good for a few toe drags, he’s excellent at dodging poor approaches and proved to be a high-percentage goalscorer. There’s both power and slickness — and equal parts style and substance — in Bladon’s game, as he knows how to use his frame to his advantage and is a lot more dynamic than his numbers might indicate, as he’s a supremely skilled passer. It felt like every one of his goals was noteworthy, a testament to his skill level and crafty Canadian style of play.
