JP Charpentier
About JP
Expert Analysis
Ty Xanders | Prep Lacrosse Scout
At 5’8 and 160 pounds, what Charpentier lacks in size, he more than makes up for with his motor, well-roundedness, and overall knack for just finding a way to stack up impactful plays. He plays far bigger than he is and doesn’t back down, showing a willingness to initiate contact as a dodger, pick up groundballs in traffic, and dig in on the defensive end to trigger transition opportunities. A crafty and intelligent player who has a considerable amount of box experience, Charpentier racked up 32 goals and nine assists in 18 games to earn All-ISL recognition as a sophomore, and he’s bound to carry over the momentum to his junior year despite inevitably becoming more of a focal point of opponents’ game plans. Even so, he’s so good at recognizing his matchups and attacking or knowing when to re-dodge, so he’ll still find a way to consistently produce while continuing to lift his team between the lines.
