Jonas Hawkins
About Jonas
Expert Analysis
Ty Xanders | Prep Lacrosse Scout
With a strong nose for the goal, Hawkins just has a knack for always finding a way to be at the end of plays. He’s super crafty, sneaky off-ball, and can put the ball in the back of the net in a variety of ways. After having a ton of success when dodging from X a day or two earlier at NHSLS, Hawkins showed off his prowess above the cage, scoring on a hitch, a sweep, and off the catch. There’s no doubt that he has a slight frame that he has to add more weight to, but I was impressed with his ability to bounce off of defenders and score through contact. He’s got excellent body control and even better hands, a hallmark of his game, along with his IQ.

The 2027 attackman has flashed an impressive skill set throughout the season, making a meaningful impact for Landon. One of his most dangerous tools is his ability to change speeds within his dodge: he can lull defenders into a slower tempo before exploding past them in a burst, often leaving them a step behind. He’s also a versatile scorer, capable of finishing in a variety of ways. With 29 points on the season (15g/14a), he’s been a consistent contributor. Jonas delivered one of the highlights of the night in the third quarter against Bullis. After receiving the ball behind the cage, he scanned the field, then dodged to the lefty wing. There, he initiated contact with his short-stick defender and finished with a leaping question-mark shot to the far high corner for a goal that had the crowd buzzing. He finished with one goal and two assists in the game.
