Jackson Shugart stood out at the National All-Star Games through his hustle, which doesn’t always reflect in the stats. He scrapped for ground balls, made effort plays on the ride, and kept moving off-ball. As a true two-way midfielder, Shugart made contributions on both ends of the field. Offensively, he displayed sharp vision, delivering a slick skip pass through traffic. He also demonstrated his ability to accurately place the ball from his sidearm release, whether on the run or with time and space. Defensively, Shugart has the build and mindset of a D-middie. He is quick-footed, tough, and relentless around ground balls. He’s the type of do-it-all middie that recruiters love—reliable between the lines and capable of making an impact in any phase of the game.
