Phillips first caught my attention at the IL Summer Derby, and he backed it up again at the New Balance All-America Games for Team Baltimore. One of the most vocal and animated defenders on the field, his energy translates directly into his play. Phillips is an aggressive, downhill defender who isn’t shy about putting attackmen on the turf. He times his slides with precision and punishes players who try to press into high-traffic areas. In the clearing game, he’s a vocal leader—commanding spacing and making sure his midfielders stretch and stay on sides. Phillips brings an edge and presence that makes him both a tone-setter on the field and a culture guy in the locker room.
