In late April, Meszaros gave his verbal commitment to VMI, which meant that the Keydets landed one of the top face-off specialists in Delaware. With his quick reaction times, powerful hands, and refined technique, Meszaros wins a high percentage of his face-offs via clean clamps. He will then explode away from the dot and race downfield to create a fast break chance. His incredible foot speed makes Meszaros impossible to track down. Meszaros also owns a solid frame and polished footwork. Thus, he can execute a clamp, rotate, and then box out his opponent before securing possession. Additionally, Meszaros is capable of dropping to the turf and grinding out a win, too. The VMI coaching staff will love the way Meszaros doggedly pursues ground balls.

Meszaros is an elite face off specialist with the skills, power, and speed to simply take over a game. His ability to win clamps cleanly is next level. Plus, Meszaros owns an extensive list of crafty FOGO tricks that he can execute to defeat his opponent and then secure possession. With his well-built frame, Meszaros is capable of dropping to the turf and grinding out a win too. Once Meszaros has the ball in his mesh, he will streak into the offensive end for a goal or an assist. Meszaros’ separation speed is an incredible asset. His shifty cuts and elusive stick maneuvers allow Meszaros to maintain possession as he charges through opposing defenses. Honestly, it is a mystery how this dominant face off prospect is still available.

Meszaros is the lone faceoff specialist for Team USA U17, earning his spot after beating out tough competition during tryouts. He combines strength and control to win draws and turn them into possessions. His balance and body control give him an edge in ground ball scrums, and he looks smooth boxing out opponents before scooping it cleanly or goosing it to a wing. He’s effective with his pinch-and-pop and often uses between-the-legs exits to leverage his size and positioning. Opposing teams may try to counter by throwing poles at him, but Meszaros has enough burst to escape pressure, push to open space, and continue winning matchups. His ability to consistently secure possessions makes him one of the most important pieces for Team USA this weekend.
