If you watched this game, you’d realize that Gerrett Held contributed much more than the five saves recorded in the stat book. Playing behind Boys’ Latin’s zone defense, he made key plays that helped his team secure the win. Held made an impact by stepping out of the cage to buy time for his defense to rotate, disrupting feeds with interceptions, and beating the Cavaliers to the endline to steal possessions. He also came up with big-time saves. In the first quarter, he made an incredible diving stop, going pipe-to-pipe to rob Gordon Bennett Gordon Bennett 6'1" | 160 lbs | M | Right Hand Archbishop Spalding | 2025 MD of a goal. Most importantly, with seconds left on the clock, he made the game-winning save to seal the victory.

Held was peppered all day by the Big Red offense, but he held his own in the cage. He recorded over 10 saves on the day, coming up with big stops time after time. He had saves on the doorstep from Peck and Tyler and had a big save at the end of the third quarter to spark some life for the Lakers. He was also a big part of the clearing game and took the ball over midfield a few times to help the offense. The New Freedom (Pa.) native also recorded multiple shots while trying to catch the Lawrenceville defense sleeping in its 10-man ride. He’s one of the leaders for this Lakers team and is always going to help in way way he can.
